Carmel Kelly

Job Titles:

A graduate of University College Cork, Carmel has a long-standing track record of over 20 years working in the provision of Further Education and Training in Kerry. Having previously worked in the Post Primary sector, Carmel transitioned into working in Further Education and Training in 1998, specialising in the areas of Business, Accounting, Mathematics and Law. Later, working in Early Childhood Care and Education, she wrote QQI Minor Awards in Special Education Needs as well as overseeing the development of the Level 6 Early Childhood Care and Education Programme. During her time in Kerry College, Carmel was charged with overseeing the Development and Implementation of Quality Assurances Procedures and QQI Certification.

Ella O' Donoghue

Ella is a graduate of the University of Limerick, University College Cork and an Associate Member of the CIPD. Ella has worked across different industries in her career to date; including Manufacturing, Hospitality, Pharmaceuticals, and Education. Ella is available to meet with any prospective learners to discuss the course options on offer at Kerry College.

Ioseph Nestor

Ioseph joined Kerry ETB in February 2018 as National Apprenticeship Programme Coordinator for post 2016 apprenticeships being rolled out by Kerry ETB, and was promoted to Assistant Manager in August 2019. Prior to joining Kerry ETB, Ioseph spent almost 20 years in the private sector working in Training, Education and Human Resources roles. He has a Primary Degree is Education as well as a Masters in Human Resource Management. Ioseph leads a number of course areas in the Monavalley Campus and is also responsible for new course development. His previous experience in Education, Training and in private industry ensures that graduates develop the skills they need to be successful, and the course provision stays relevant to industry needs.

John Herlihy

Job Titles:

A native of Kilcummin, outside Killarney, John worked with Radio Kerry for 20 years - first as a radio producer, voiceover and presenter and later as Manager of Radio Kerry Training before joining Kerry College in 2018. John has worked as a lecturer in the School of Business at MTU Kerry Campus and as an associate trainer with Learning Waves. He holds a BA (Hons) in Hotel Management from GMIT and a MA (Hons) in International Tourism from the University of Limerick.

John Skinner

A native of Spike Island, Co Cork, John is a graduate of the University of Limerick having graduated with an Honours Degree in Engineering Technology in Education. Prior to his appointment as Engineering Teacher at Kerry College, John taught Engineering at Post Primary level in Limerick City. Since joining Kerry ETB in 2014 he was appointed Assistant Principal and in October 2020 appointed Deputy Principal with responsibility for Kerry College Denny Street Campus. Further to his Primary Degree, John also has a Master's Degree in Education Leadership & Management.

Mary Fitzmaurice

Mary is a native of Tralee and has over 25 years' experience working in management, in the private sector. Since joining Kerry ETB in 2017 Mary has worked across several areas of the organisation. She began her journey in Adult Basic Education, before moving to the payroll department in Monavalley Campus. She had roles as Office Manager and Evening Course Manager in Monavalley Campus, as well as working in the HR department in Head Office, before moving to the Admissions Office in August 2023. Mary is committed to helping individuals unlock their own potential. Through life-long learning and the continuous pursuit of knowledge and skills that Kerry ETB provides, Mary is passionate about helping all learners to achieve their goals.

Niamh is a graduate of Leeds Beckett University and University College Cork. She has worked in the education field for almost 10 years and her experience spans primary, secondary and further education and training in both the U.K and Ireland.
