My Latin 2s are studying Aquae Sulis in Britain as part of their chapter on Roman provinces. The textbook characters travel to Aquae Sulis to be healed in the soothing spring waters. We took time to study the superstitious/Religious beliefs of the Romans and the connection of the baths and temple to Minerva, a Roman goddess. THEN THE FUN BEGAN...
The museum has on display pieces from the temple pediment, and uses projection technology to "fill in the gaps" of what is missing, so visitors can easily visualize what a grand site the temple would have been...
I'm sure this group of students would have preferred a real trip to Britain, but the virtual field trip was a nice break from translating Latin anyhow
