Charles Reasonover - CMO

Charles has been with Foundation Group since 2005. Prior to that, being a lifelong native of the Nashville area, his first marketing job was creating advertisements for record labels and music artists while working in the in-house advertising department of a music store chain. He later moved into the nonprofit world, spending a number of years in marketing and communications at United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. At Foundation Group, Charles and his team make sure that those wanting to start a new nonprofit organization, or to keep an existing organization IRS and state compliant, are able to find Foundation Group online; as well as producing email communication and other content for our clients. Charles is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and holds a B.S. in Marketing. He lives in Nashville with his wife and two boys.

Dee Hollinger

Dee oversees our nonprofit formation department. She is Foundation Group's longest tenured team member and has been with FG since 2001. A native of Maine, her diverse career has spanned everything from being an Army M.P. in Germany and Alaska to working in logistics support for both international banking and Japanese international trading companies. In the early 90s, Dee moved into the nonprofit world for good, working with both United Cerebral Palsy and as a church administrator. For the past 15 years, Dee has headed up our formation services for new nonprofits. Few nonprofit consultants anywhere understand half as much about the tax exemption process than Dee. She has worked with thousands of nonprofits nationwide and knows what it takes to get new organizations properly established. Dee and her husband live in Hermitage, Tennessee and stay busy spending time with their children and nine grandchildren.

Greg McRay is the President and CEO of Foundation Group. With a professional background in tax and accounting, Greg began working extensively with nonprofit organizations starting in the early 1990s. His solo practice continued to grow, leading to the decision to develop a professional services firm addressing the tax and compliance needs of nonprofits nationwide. Teaming with a like-minded associate, Foundation Group was launched in September 1995. Since the very beginning, Greg's vision for Foundation Group has been to empower our clients with the expert counsel and essential services that help nonprofit leaders make better decisions, reduce risk, and grow their organizations. That vision is fulfilled in FG's comprehensive, consulting-based approach to helping new nonprofits get up and running, as well as the ongoing compliance services that we provide to existing nonprofits. A frequent writer and presenter, Greg has been a featured CPE expert for Strafford Publishing and 501(c)(3) University, and his writing is syndicated through Alltop.com, LawForChange.org, EZineArticles.com, Newstex and others. In addition, his article contributions to Foundation Group's blog has helped it earn a "Top Honors" award for excellence in nonprofit content. Over the course of his 25+ years in the nonprofit space, Greg has also put action to advice, serving on the board of directors of numerous charitable organizations in the Nashville area. Greg is licensed by the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent and is admitted to represent our clients in all matters before the IRS. A coffee lover, avid motorcyclist, and outdoor guy, he lives just outside of booming Nashville, Tennessee with his wife, Susan, and daughter, Caroline, in the community of Mt. Juliet. Madi works in on our Compliance Team, assisting our clients with state fundraising registration services. She is a native Tennessean and a graduate of Volunteer State Community College. She is on the Board of Directors for a local nonprofit that focuses on helping animals as well as people to heal and find happiness. Her hobbies include horseback riding, barrel racing, and canoeing with friends. She and her family reside in Mount Juliet, TN, along with her Border Collie Waylon. Together they volunteer with a local nonprofit to visit nursing homes and The Ronald McDonald House sharing plenty of hugs and doggie kisses.

Makenzie is a 2017 addition to our full-time compliance team, having interned with us for the prior two years. She is a native of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and a B.S. graduate of the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Most days you will find her heads-down working on a client's Form 990 or state charity registration. In addition to the skills she puts to use for our clients everyday, Makenzie also loves to indulge her talent for painting and drawing. You'll also find her trying to keep up with her Australian Shepherd, Luna.

Shannon Evans

Shannon joined the FG family in April 2012, but has quickly become a true MVP to our clients. As Director of Compliance Services, Shannon and her team concentrate their skills toward the ongoing needs of established nonprofits, with services such as IRS Form 990 preparation and charitable solicitations registration and renewal. Shannon comes to FG after nearly 10 years with Ingersol Rand / Trane where she most recently managed their US Unclaimed Property Division. Her extensive experience with the critical detail of 50 state compliance for Ingersol gives her a unique skill-set to assist Foundation Group clients with our version of 50 state compliance. Shannon earned her B.S. in Accounting from Western Kentucky University and an MBA from Cumberland University. In addition, Shannon is credentialed as an Enrolled Agent by the Internal Revenue Service, the IRS's highest tax specialist designation. Shannon and her family reside in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
