After medical school, Dr. Culotta completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University. During his residency, Louisiana was devastated by hurricane Katrina. Dr. Culotta was one of the first responders. He was uniquely qualified to help address the thousands of ocular injuries that were seen in the aftermath. Following this dramatic experience, he chose again to help the people of New Orleans by completing a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship in the area with renowned retina pioneer, Dr. Kurt Gitter. Dr. Culotta became board-certified in ophthalmology in 2009.
Dr. Culotta has special interest in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and vitreoretinal interface abnormalities, such as epiretinal membranes and macular holes. Dr. Culotta is a pioneer in the treatment of advanced diabetic macular edema and complex macular degeneration. He has worked extensively at developing novel algorithms for layering laser photocoagulation into treatment paradigms of intravitreal Avastin injections for patients with recalcitrant diabetic edema. At the Retina Institute, Dr. Culotta is the head of the advanced laser therapeutics lab investigating new treatment protocols for neovascular diseases.
Dr. Culotta is proud of his Italian American heritage. He currently lives in Yorba Linda with his wife Cyndi and two daughters, Livia and Lia.

Daniel Jay Coden, M.D., F.A.C.S is proud to have been referred to as the "Eye Surgeon's Eye Surgeon", having been the choice of other eye surgeons when their time for surgery came. He is humbled by the confidence they have shown by entrusting their own family members in his hands, which he considers to be the ultimate compliment.
Dr. Coden has been the choice of many world class athletes, having performed laser vision correction procedures on Olympic cyclists and professional tri-athletes. A huge sports fan, he has been thrilled with the opportunity to care for the ophthalmic needs of members of the former San Diego Chargers as well as the San Diego Padres. A veteran of numerous Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball camps, Dr. Coden has been cited in local newspapers as the only eye surgeon in San Diego who can handle a surgical scalpel and baseball bat with equal skill!
Dr. Coden is highly experienced, having practiced in San Diego since 1990, and is a Senior Staff Physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla. He is board certified in Ophthalmology and is a nationally recognized leader in ophthalmology. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Coden began his advanced studies at the University of Michigan and then went on to receive his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of California, San Diego, where he performed his first refractive procedure in 1986. Dr. Coden then travelled to New York City, where he received Fellowship training in Eyelid Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital.
Dr. Coden is the former Vice President and served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Eye Bank, one of the largest Eye Banks in the United States. He served as Chairman of the Education Committee and has chaired international meetings on the latest techniques in LASIK and other laser vision procedures. Dr. Coden has published numerous research articles in ophthalmology journals and has contributed several chapters on eye surgery to major textbooks. He has lectured on the latest techniques in eye surgery at medical conferences both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Coden is a former Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, where he was honored with a Senior Teaching Award. He is additionally a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is a long standing member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Coden has been married for 34 years and they are the proud parents of three adult children. As a couple, they are well-known for their generosity and philanthropy, recently raising over $600,000 for charitable causes with a fundraiser around the hit Broadway play, "Hamilton" Their efforts were recognized when Mayor Kevin Faulconer declared January 13, 2018 as "Elizabeth Nederlander Coden and Daniel Coden, M.D. Day" in San Diego!

Dr. Steven Fish is a fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon practicing in San Diego and Palm Desert. Dr. Steven G. Pratt is a board certified ophthalmologist, with specialties in Oculoplastics & Reconstructive Surgery. Currently he is a senior staff ophthalmologist at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California.
Dr. Pratt completed a fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Harvard's Eye & Ear Hospital) in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1981. Since completing his fellowship in June, 1981, Dr. Pratt has done well over 35,000 eyelid and facial surgeries, including thousands of cosmetic and post-mohs reconstructive surgeries after facial skin cancer.

Drew is Acuity's Chief Legal Officer. After graduating from UCLA School of Law, he joined Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he worked on global antitrust investigations related to LIBOR and the foreign exchange markets. In that capacity, Drew spent considerable time in Zurich, Munich, London, Hong Kong and Singapore. Eager to develop courtroom and trial skills, Drew later joined the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office as a Deputy District Attorney. While there, he prosecuted a variety of crimes, including gang shootings, business fraud, and first-degree murder. Drew later returned to the private sector and was recruited to join the partnership of Allen Matkins LLP, one of California's premier law firms.
While at Allen Matkins, Drew began working closely with Acuity Eye Group as it's outside litigation counsel. This is where he saw firsthand Acuity's mission to improve healthcare through the use of technology and outstanding patient care. Ultimately, Drew was so excited about the vision for Acuity Eye Group that he left his law partnership to join the company as its first Chief Legal Officer.
Drew draws on the skills he developed in these varied legal capacities in his role at Acuity, where he oversees the company's Legal, Compliance, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, Contracting, and Provider Relations functions. He also serves the company in an operational capacity over the Acuity's ambulatory surgery centers.

Prior to Concentra she was the Provider Relations Manager for U.S. HealthWorks Medical Group where she successfully managed provider onboarding and credentialing for more than 1300 physicians and mid-levels nationwide.

Dr. Chang is an internationally renowned clinician, surgeon and educator. He received his MD from the University of Toronto Medical School and his ophthalmology residency training from the University of Western Ontario. He completed three fellowships in retinal diseases: an ophthalmic pathology fellowship from the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University, a macular disease fellowship with Dr. Donald Gass at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Chang was Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia for five years and then an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute for six years where he was Director of the Retina Fellowship. In November 2005, he founded the Retina Institute of California (RIC).
Dr. Chang was part of the team that performed the world's first surgical implantation of stem cell treatment for dry macular degeneration, which was in collaboration with the Johnson & Johnson Stem Cell organization.
