Alvaro Tori, MD, FAAP, is Associate Dean of Diversity Affairs. He practices medicine in the pediatric critical care unit at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and IU School of Medicine. He's enthusiastic about his position in Diversity Affairs because it affords him the opportunity to increase representational diversity, inclusive working and learning environment, and cultural competency and humility training through his efforts with strategic programming at IU School of Medicine. Mentoring a diverse group of students, residents, fellows and faculty, Dr. Tori considers it a personal mission to influence the next generation of practitioners and ensure diversity among their ranks. His personal experience, as both a native of Peru and a member of the LGBTQ community, enables him to truly understand the meaning of diversity and the importance of its acceptance. In his free time, Dr. Tori enjoys family activities with his husband, son and daughter and loves traveling back to Peru where he can share his Peruvian heritage.

Andrea Zeek is the assistant director of research communications for IU School of Medicine. In her role, Andrea works closely with the Executive Associate Dean for Research Affairs, researchers across the school, and her colleagues in the Office of Strategic Communications to elevate IU School of Medicine's research reputation. Andrea first joined IU in 2012 and has held various communications roles throughout the university, including the Office of the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and the Office of the Vice President for Research. She has also worked as a science writer at the University of Iowa and as a newspaper reporter in Indiana. Andrea earned a master's degree in journalism with a concentration in health and science communication from IU Bloomington and a bachelor's degree in news-editorial journalism from Ball State University.

Constance Skinner is a PhD candidate in IU's Higher Education & Student Affairs (HESA) program where her research examines teacher preparation for new and junior faculty during their doctoral programs. Having over 13 years of undergraduate teaching experience, Constance has taught multiple topics like women's health, human sexuality, stress management, preparation for K12 health teachers, personal health, public speaking, and more.
She worked alongside the former dean at IU-Bloomington School of Education, Dr. Gerardo Gonzalez, designing curriculum and leading a team of graduate instructors for underrepresented, high-ability freshmen in an academic-driven scholarship program. She mapped curricular programming for the first undergraduate certificate in HESA in the country with IUB's School of Education. Having served the IU School of Medicine as an instructional design intern since 2020, she served several faculty by encouraging creative ways to teach and learn in virtual spaces and facilitating faculty development workshops. Her favorite type of work is integrating diversity and inclusivity in "the classroom" and curriculum, while decoding disciplinary learning, to enhance equity and justice efforts in all environments.

Dr. Henderson earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville. She completed both her pre-doctoral clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. Her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology emphasized Cardiac-Pulmonary Behavioral Medicine. In October 2018, she began her clinical-track faculty position in the Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Henderson works as a clinician and supervisor in a variety of clinical settings at IU School of Medicine and IU Health, including the Advanced Pain Therapies Clinic, integrated care, and the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. She is the Co-Principal Investigator for two studies supported by the Racial Justice Research Fund at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. One project aims to examine the impact of discriminatory law enforcement exposure and childhood trauma on physical and mental health and quality of life in adult Black men and women in a primary care setting. The other project aims to examine an intervention for schoolchildren following lead exposure.
Dr. Henderson is committed to diversity work. She brings this passion to her role as a member of the IU School of Medicine Psychology Internship Program's Executive Committee, spearheading diversity efforts. Jay L. Hess, MD, PhD, MHSA, is the 10th dean of Indiana University School of Medicine. A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Hess is a hematopathologist and one of the nation's leading researchers in the epigenetics of leukemia. Neil H. Perdue, PhD, is senior executive advisor to the dean in the Office of the Executive Vice President for University Clinical Affairs and Dean of the School of Medicine. In this role, he serves as primary advisor to Dean Jay L. Hess, MD, PhD, MHSA, and as a member of the executive leadership team that is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic agenda for the school. Perdue represents the dean on a wide range of strategic, organizational and operational initiatives, including alignment with the health system, strategic communications and compliance and security matters.
Bio
Perdue joined IU School of Medicine in May 2023 after having served as executive vice president and chief strategy officer at the University of Indianapolis since 2021. He joined the UIndy president's office leadership team in 2017 when he assumed the role of chief of staff and director of strategic initiatives. He later expanded in that role to also serve as the university's first chief operating officer. Prior to his work as an executive leader on the president's team, Perdue served as a tenured member of the University of Indianapolis faculty as an associate professor of psychology. He joined the faculty in 2009 as an assistant professor. During his time as teaching faculty, he served as director of undergraduate programs, assistant dean of academic programs, and associate dean of the College of Applied Behavioral Sciences.
Perdue is a 2002 graduate of Butler University, with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. He completed his graduate education at Indiana University-earning a master's degree in counseling and counselor education in 2004, an education specialist degree in mental health counseling in 2005, and a PhD in learning and developmental sciences in 2009.

Paul M. Wallach, MD, a nationally recognized leader in academic medicine, was named executive associate dean of educational affairs and institutional improvement for Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Wallach was previously vice dean for academic affairs and professor of medicine for Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. In his prior role, Dr. Wallach oversaw education and student programs for the medical school. Having served on national boards and providing leadership to professional licensure, accreditation, and test developed and governance activities for more than 20 years, Dr. Wallach is highly regarded for his expertise in both instructional design and evaluation.

As Executive Associate Dean for Research Affairs, Foroud oversees IU School of Medicine's $450 million research enterprise. Tiffinie obtained her BA at Wright State University (Dayton, OH) in Anthropology with a certificate in Cultural Diversity in Healthcare. Originally from Cleveland, OH, she moved to Memphis, TN to pursue her MA in Applied Anthropology with a medical concentration at the University of Memphis, which she completed in 2020.
Tim is a graduate of Herron School of Art and holds a bachelor degree in fine arts with a major in visual communication. After graduating, he began working for the Indianapolis Center for Advanced Research (ICFAR)-an affiliate of IU, Purdue, City of Indianapolis and the Indy Chamber of Commerce-where he served as as a graphic designer, photographer and illustrator for seven years. He then began his own freelance design business in Indianapolis and spent a decade working with a variety of clients, including Howard S. Wilcox, Sease Gerig & Associates, Ivy Tech, Riley Children's Foundation, Indianapolis Public Library and Fairbanks Hospital. Tim returned to IU as a graphic designer and photographer in the IU School of Medicine Office of Visual Media. In his current role, he works with faculty and departmental leaders to provide photography for communications and fundraising materials. He also served for three years as an adjunct professor teaching third- and- fourth-year medical students introduction to medical illustration, photography and Adobe Creative Suite.
