OUTLIER ENERGY - Key Persons
Chris Whipple has been leading teams that develop and deliver mega projects within the Oil & Gas and Power industries for twenty-five years. Chris spent fifteen years developing and managing the engineering, construction and installation of deep-water offshore platforms for such companies as Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips, Heas and ABB. During this time, Chirs's teams delivered $6.5 BN in offshore projects.
Chris's successes in Oil & Gas include the deepest offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico at its time of installation, the largest oil field in West Africa and managing a construction organization that spanned four continents with $1.5 BN in annual revenues.
After leaving Oil & Gas, Chris built a team that managed the construction of two clean-coal power plants for Luminant. Chris's team delivered these plants in 30 months and for the price of lower natural gas fired power plants. Offshore, Chris built microgrids powering each of his platforms. These were highly efficient power plants that incorporated cogeneration, demand response and hybrid power systems. From this knowledge of how to manage power better, Outlier Energy was born.
