Adrian Price

Adrian Price has been a pharmacist for over 30 years and the Superintendent Pharmacist at Tesco Stores Ltd since 2010 where he is responsible for the safe and legal operation of the Tesco's pharmacies and pharmacy supply chain. Adrian is a member of Community Pharmacy Hertfordshire. He started his career working in branch management for the Co-operative Group where he stayed for 13 years, working in dozens pharmacies across the North West and serving on LPCs for over 10 years. Adrian followed this with a variety of roles in the Co-op's Head Office including Head of Governance and Head of Clinical Services.

Alastair Buxton

Alastair joined Community Pharmacy England in November 2002 as Head of NHS Services, with responsibility for policy on national community pharmacy services. In May 2015 he became Director of NHS Services, leading a team covering policy and support on locally and nationally commissioned community pharmacy services, monitoring of the wider NHS and healthcare policy environment and community pharmacy and internal Community Pharmacy England IT. Alastair is a member of Community Pharmacy England's negotiating team and regularly works with colleagues at NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care on matters relating to his policy responsibilities.

Anil Sharma

Anil Sharma qualified in 1997 from John Moores University and has been a practising independent contractor for 25 years. He runs a small group of pharmacies with his wife Geeta. Anil is Chair of Community Pharmacy Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Anil has a particular interest in travel medicine, rural pharmacies, future development of the profession and promoting young pharmacists to become independent contractors.

Beran Patel

Beran Patel is a community Pharmacist based in Thornton Heath, Surrey . He qualified as a pharmacist in 1990 and has been a contractor for over 26 years. Beran was previously the vice chair of Croydon Local Pharmaceutical Committee and is now a member of the Community Pharmacy South West London. He became an independent Prescriber in 2018 and has provided a range of services for his local community. Beran has sat on his local NHS Professional Executive Committee, prescribing committees and been a PCN lead.

Clare Kerr

Clare Kerr registered as a pharmacist in 1989 having qualified from Queen's University, Belfast. Clare worked for Lloyds Pharmacy for over 25 years in a variety of roles progressing from pre-registration student to Pharmacy Manager and Area Manager. In 2000, Clare took on a role in service development and she went on to lead a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the development and implementation of a wide range of services. Clare currently works in healthcare policy and strategy for Rowlands Pharmacy. As well as being a member of Community Pharmacy England, Clare is a board member of the CCA.

David Broome

He runs his pharmacy business with his wife, Jackie, and he is a member and officer of Community Pharmacy West Yorkshire. David's particular interests include EPS, medicines safety and clinical pharmacy. He has been involved with the EPS implementation board, medicines safety exchange, area prescribing committee and local mental health trust medicines committee.

David Onuoha

Role: David joined Community Pharmacy England in April 2020 as Service Development Manager, working to support the development of local and national NHS pharmacy services. David is responsible for analysing health and care policy developments relevant to community pharmacy and managing the maintenance and use of Community Pharmacy England's knowledgebase of community pharmacy services. In time his role will also expand to include supporting LPCs with local service development. Background: David qualified as a pharmacist in 1999 and has worked for Boots UK for 21 years in various positions including Pharmacy and Store Management, Area Management, Deployment planning, as a Healthcare Development Manager and a Regional Pharmacy Manager. While working at Boots, David has been a member of several LPCs including 11 years with Kent LPC where he was also Chair for the last 3 years.

Dr Ian Cubbin

Background: Dr Ian Cubbin qualified from the Sunderland School of Pharmacy 1980 after which he joined the family firm before going on to read his doctorate jointly at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and the University of Sunderland. Previous roles have included a teacher practitioner at John Moores University and Ian is currently Managing Director of James Cubbin & Son, operating five pharmacies in the Wirral. Gary Warner

Gary Warner owns a community pharmacy on the Isle of Wight and is the Technical Director for the PharmOutcomes platform. Gary is a member of Community Pharmacy Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Gary qualified as an independent prescriber in 2008, specialising in the treatment of substance misuse. Gary is passionate about all that pharmacy can do for patients and commissioners and has won a Chief Medical Officer's Award and authored a number of peer-reviewed publications evidencing the impact of community pharmacy services.

Gemma co-ordinates the Dispensing and Supply Team communications and content for the Dispensing and Supply section of the website. Background: Gemma has a pharmacy background with 12 years' experience as a dispenser in community pharmacy.

Gordon Hockey

Role: Gordon joined Community Pharmacy England as Director of Operations and Support in 2016. He leads Community Pharmacy England's work on regulatory matters related to NHS pharmaceutical services, such as the market entry provisions, and the terms of service. Gordon also provides guidance on those regulatory matters to Community Pharmacy England when it is consulted on proposals for amendments, and he pro-actively identifies issues that Community Pharmacy England may wish to see amended. Background: Gordon practised as a community pharmacist before working for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in various roles, including secretary to the statutory (disciplinary) committee. He is qualified as a barrister and for almost 17 years he worked for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, first as Assistant Registrar, in charge of standards and fitness to practise procedures for veterinary surgeons and nurses; and later as Registrar of the College.

Ian Strachan

Background: Ian Strachan set up own his group of pharmacies from scratch in 2007. Ian's pharmacy career has involved consultancy work, mainstream pharmacy in both independents and multiples, LPCs and national pharmacy representation. He is a Board Member at the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies and previously served two terms on the NPA board and was their chairman between 2014 to 2018. Ian has been an advisor to the pharmaceutical industry since 1992 and writer for various pharmacy publications. Before qualifying and working as a pharmacist he was a Home Office Forensic Scientist and also gained teacher qualifications, working on the GCSE syllabus at colleges in Bury, Oldham and Stockport.

Ifti Khan

He is currently the Pharmacy Superintendent at Well Pharmacy. Ifti has previously held several pharmacy professional, operational and field roles and has also worked as a locum pharmacist. He is currently Vice-Chair of Community Pharmacy Greater Manchester. He is also a board member of the Company Chemists' Association.

Jack Cresswell

James Wood

Role: James joined Community Pharmacy England in January 2021 as Community Pharmacy England's first Director of Member & LPC Support. His role includes being a member of the Community Pharmacy England Leadership Team - leading on pharmacy owner/LPC and Community Pharmacy England partnership, and participating in the Community Pharmacy England Negotiating Team. He is responsible for maintaining effective networks with pharmacy owners and their representative groups, including the 70 LPCs in England. Background: James qualified as a pharmacist in 2004. He has had a diverse career in the sector and beyond in the wider NHS, including as a pharmacy owner and Superintendent Pharmacist in Sheffield. James has been involved in local pharmacy representation via LPCs for most of his professional career; first as a governing member and latterly for over 9 years as a Chief Executive Officer. In 2018 James was designated a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in recognition of the advancement of pharmacy practice.

Janet Morrison - CEO

Role: Janet joined Community Pharmacy England in March 2022. As CEO she is the principal advisor to the Community Pharmacy England Committee, and is responsible and accountable for all operational dimensions of the organisation. These include the planning and shaping of NHS services provided by the network of community pharmacies in England, as well as negotiating funding from HM Government and the NHS. Background: Janet is an experienced leader in the public and not-for-profit sectors and has experience of working with health and social care. For the last 15 years she has operated at CEO level both at Independent Age and most recently at the Black Stork charity which was working to set up strategies supporting a national rehabilitation centre in partnership with the NHS. She was previously the deputy CEO at NESTA (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) and has also worked as a policy advisor at the BBC and as Director of Policy and Research at the NCVO (the National Council for Voluntary Organisations). Janet was awarded an OBE for her work around combating loneliness.

Jas Heer

Jas Heer qualified as a pharmacist in 1987 after studying at Leicester School of Pharmacy and currently owns and operates a small group of pharmacies in Coventry and Birmingham. Jay Patel

Jay Patel is now Executive Director at Day Lewis and has had a lifelong interest and experience in community pharmacy. Jay is Chair of Community Pharmacy Surrey and a Board Member at the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies. In his roles at Day Lewis he has been involved with the range of external industries/stakeholders that impact or are impacted by community pharmacy, as well as day to day operations, and as Executive Director he is responsible for the Day Lewis Community Pharmacy Strategy. Katrina Worthington

Background: Katrina qualified as a Pharmacy Technician in 2009 whilst working for the then Co-operative Pharmacy. She continued working there whilst also studying a Law degree and a Master of Law. Whilst working for The Co-operative Pharmacy/Well, Katrina has held many roles and prior to joining Community Pharmacy England she was working in the Superintendent's Team as NHS Contracts Technician. While working at Well, Katrina was also a member of Cheshire & Wirral LPC.

Lindsey Fairbrother

Lindsey Fairbrother qualified from the University of Nottingham and is an independent contractor in Derbyshire who has owned her own business for more than 10 years. Lindsey is a member of Community Pharmacy Derbyshire. As an independent prescriber she also provides a travel clinic and private services. Lindsey has had a wide range of roles across the community pharmacy sector, including in service development and wholesale as well as a PCN lead. She is also a Trustee of the Hatton Support Network and has also spent time as a non-executive on the Board of South Staffordshire PCT. Lindsey is particularly keen on developing future professionals and has acted as pre-reg tutor, apprentice tutor and designated prescribing practitioner to help qualify pharmacist independent prescribers.

Originally training as a pharmacist at Cardiff University, he has worked within the NHS and progressed through a number of senior clinical, HR and managerial positions within Boots UK. Marc currently oversees the strategy for Healthcare and external relationships. Marc presently holds fellowships at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the Chartered Institute of Professional Development. He is a member of the People Advisory Board of NHS England, Chair of the Community Pharmacy Workforce Development Group and a Director of the Company Chemists' Association. Mike Dent

Role: Mike has worked for Community Pharmacy England since 2004. His main focus is on the level and distribution of funding for pharmacy owners and related projects such as margins surveys and cost inquiries. Background: Prior to this Mike worked in strategy and finance for Boots. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and has a degree in Economics from Cambridge.

Niamh McMillan

Niamh McMillan studied Pharmacy at Aston University in Birmingham and registered as a Pharmacist in 2013 after completion of her pre-registration training with Superdrug. Niamh has worked for Superdrug for a number of years as Pharmacy Manager, Cluster Lead, Clinical Development Manager and Regional Healthcare Manager with experience as a CCA Rep on a number of LPCs. Niamh is currently Superintendent Pharmacist for Superdrug responsible for the professional standards and team development across their 200 pharmacies. Niamh is also a board member of CCA.

Olivier Picard

Background: Olivier Picard has been a community pharmacist for over 20 years. He trained as a pharmacist in France where he obtained a PhD in pharmacy but has spent most of his working life in the UK. Olivier was also one of the first pharmacists to become a non-medical independent prescriber in 2007, a post graduate certificate obtained with the University of Reading. He was an area manager for Moss Pharmacy until 2005 and established his own business in 2006. He now runs Newdays Pharmacy Group in Berkshire/Buckinghamshire. Olivier currently sits on Community Pharmacy Thames Valley as an independent committee member and is also a board member of the National Pharmacy Association (NPA). His interests include travel medicine, developing and implementing new services, and media work to promote the valuable role of community pharmacies and to further strengthen the role of pharmacists. He established a mass COVID vaccination site in Marlow, Bucks and won Pharmacy Business of the Year in the 2021 Pharmacy Business Awards.

Peter Cattee

Phil Day

Phil Day studied pharmacy at Nottingham University and qualified as a pharmacist in 1995 after completing his training with Boots, and continued working for them in stores across Yorkshire and the Humber. He has always had an interest in the role of technology in healthcare, and joined Pharmacy2U in 2000 to explore this. He has been involved in the development and evolution of online and distance selling pharmacy, including the pilots of what was to become the Electronic Prescription Service, and is interested in patient safety and progressing the future of community pharmacy as a whole. Phil is the Superintendent Pharmacist for Pharmacy2U and oversees their professional standards and regulatory compliance, and is also a board member of CCA.

Rosie Taylor

Rosie joined Community Pharmacy England in 2014 as Pharmacy and NHS Policy Officer, working to support LPCs and pharmacy owners with service development. In December 2015 she became Head of Service Development. Rosie leads Community Pharmacy England's work on collating information on community pharmacy services and works on the development of local and national NHS pharmacy services. She also identifies and analyses health and care policy developments relevant to community pharmacy to support ongoing service development.

Role: Sarah joined Community Pharmacy England in 2017. She works within our Dispensing and Supply team dealing with pharmacy owner queries and pricing issues. Sarah is our lead on price concessions, branded medicine shortages and appliance issues/queries. Background: Sarah has vast knowledge of pharmacy having worked in the sector for over 20 years. Most recently Sarah was the Dispensary Manager within a dispensing doctors. Sarah has also worked in an independent community pharmacy and for multiples.

Sharlyn Beltran

Role: Sharlyn's role is to produce a range of communications materials for Community Pharmacy England's digital platforms. She helps with drafting email newsletters, managing the website, and making sure that the organisation stays relevant and updated on social media. Sharlyn also assists the Director of Member and LPC Support by providing communications functions and co-managing LPC events including the annual conferences, trainings, briefings, and webinars. Background: Sharlyn has a degree in Mass Communication with a major in Public Relations and previously held communication roles and managed several large events for a global membership association. She specialises in event planning, social media management and corporate communication. Throughout her career, she also made available her communications and event management skills to support the activities of Football for Humanity, a charity active in the UK and Southeast Asia.

Stephen Thomas

Stephen Thomas qualified in 1995 and, after completing a number of roles with Boots, spent 2 years with Voluntary Services Overseas as Principal Pharmacist in Vanuatu (South Pacific). Returning to the UK in 2001 he spent 2 years working for a regional multiple in Cheshire before moving to Rowlands Pharmacy in 2003. At Rowlands, he's held a number of roles regarding professional standards, contractual matters and external relations. Stephen's current role as Superintendent Pharmacist consolidates this experience. Stephen has been a member of Community Pharmacy Cheshire and Wirral (and forerunners), is a director of the CCA and is also a board member of Community Pharmacy Wales and a nominated member of the Welsh Pharmaceutical Committee.

Sue Killen

Background: Sue Killen took up her post as non-executive Chair of Community Pharmacy England on 1st September 2019. Sue also chairs Change Grow Live and the Katie Piper Foundation and was formerly Vice Chair and Senior Independent Director at Clarion Housing Group. During her executive career she was for 10 years the CEO of St John Ambulance and the interim CEO of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She is a former senior civil servant who worked for a range of Government Departments including as a Director General at the Department for Transport and the Director at the Home Office responsible for leading work on tackling drug misuse. She also led an Independent review of children and young people's palliative care for the Secretary of State for Health.

Suraj Shah

Role: Suraj joined Community Pharmacy England in 2018. His main areas of responsibility relate to the developments to the Drug Tariff, changes in the supply chain and supply shortages, and the review of pricing arrangements for specific categories of medicines or appliances. Background: Suraj is a pharmacist and has worked in both hospital and community pharmacy sectors before joining Community Pharmacy England. His previous role was with the National Pharmacy Association as a Pharmacy Services Operations Manager within their Pharmacy Services Team. Before that role he worked in the NPA Information department as an Information Pharmacist and then as a Team Leader.

Tricia Kennerley

Tricia Kennerley, a qualified pharmacist, joined Moss Chemist in 1995, known now as Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) where she has held several senior positions including Managing Director of Alliance Pharmacy in 2007 and Healthcare Development Director for Boots. Latterly Tricia led the International Public Affairs function for WBA, influencing pharmacy and healthcare policy, working with key stakeholders across governments and healthcare policy leaders as well as pharmaceutical manufacturers. Since retiring in September 2022 Tricia became an Independent Specialist Pharmacy Affairs Advisor and in this capacity is representing Boots on Community Pharmacy England and the board of the Company Chemists' Association.
