Branden S. Hunter

Dr. Branden Hunter earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and his doctor of medicine degree from Medical College of Georgia. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, his fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology at the Medical University of South Carolina and his sub-fellowship in endoscopic ultrasound at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has interests in gastrointestinal cancers, colon cancer screening and acid reflux. He currently works for Gastroenterology Consultants of Savannah, PC. Dr. Hunter is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in gastroenterology and hepatology and has medical licenses in South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Buffi G. Boyd

David R. Knopf

Dr. David Knopf double majored in chemistry and psychology at Emory University; he graduated summa cum laude in psychology. After that he attended Emory University School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. His postgraduate training in diagnostic radiology, computed tomography, ultrasound and CT-guided intervention was also at Emory University (and affiliated hospitals). Dr. Ajaz Bulbul

Dr. Ajaz Bulbul is triple board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He received his undergraduate degrees in medicine and surgery from the University of Jammu in India. Dr. Gary Thomas

Dr. Gary Thomas received his B.A. of Chemistry from the College of Charleston and medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Following that he did his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and was named Chief Resident. He completed his Medical Oncology fellowship at The Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University 1993. Dr. Thomas has been in practice in the Low Country of South Carolina since 1993 and has been the Medical Director of South Carolina Cancer Specialists since 2001. He accepted the Clinical Assistant Professor appointment to Medical University of South Carolina in 2006. He is currently on the Peer Review panel of ASCO Journals for Lymphoma. Dr. Gregory M. Haidemenos

Dr. Jordan Dixon

He then did a hepatobiliary surgery fellowship at Virginia Macon Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. Dr. Kirks is the only board-certified, fellowship-trained hepatobiliary surgeon in the region and concentrates primary on diseases of the biliary system, which includes the liver and pancreas. He has a particular interest in pancreatic cancer. He is an established physician researcher and has written many articles in the field of hepatobiliary surgery.

Dr. Ryan Lingo

Dr. Ryan Lingo earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Georgia. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine as part of the inaugural Savannah campus class. Dr. Lingo then went on to complete his neurosurgical residency at the University of Tennessee Heath Science Center and the Semmes Murphey Clinic in Memphis, Tenn., training in the latest cranial and spine techniques. During this time, he completed a six-month international fellowship in skull base and vascular neurosurgery at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, England. Dr. Lingo is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and Southern Neurosurgical Society. He is trained in minimally invasive spine and cranial techniques, neuroendoscopy and stereotactic radiosurgery. Among his special interests are neuro-oncology, meningiomas and skull base tumors including pituitary tumors.

Dr. Sarah Gill

Dr. Sarah Gill is a board certified Gynecologic Oncologist who has been practicing at the Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion since August 2017. She completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., after residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Greenville Health System in Greenville, SC. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn. Dr. Gill is double board certified in both Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, which is a prestigious honor among surgeons, as of Oct. 2020. She is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Dr. Gill's interests include treatment of premalignant and malignant conditions of the female genital tract, clinical trials, chemotherapy and survivorship.

Dr. Timothy Minton

Dr. Timothy Minton is the region's only fellowship trained, double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He came to Savannah to serve as physician and president of Savannah Facial Plastic Surgery, LLC, with Georgia Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists in 2015. Dr. Minton received his undergraduate degree in biology from Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y. He went to medical college at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Minton went on to complete an additional five-year residency training in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, which included extensive training in reconstructive facial plastic surgery. He has been a contributing author in two books and several publications on Otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery and given more than 20 presentations on these topics at various medical conferences. Dr. Yana Puckett

Fred L. Daniel

Dr. Fred Daniel attended medical school at the Medical School of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Grant C. Lewis

Dr. Grant Lewis, who joined Summit Cancer Care, P.C. in July 2009, brings to the practice the most advanced studies in cancer care. He completed his hematology and medical oncology fellowships at the Medical College of Georgia in 2009. Since then, he has been involved with several exciting new advances in the treatment of cancer and blood disorders. Dr. Pablo has extensive experience with conventional simulation, CT-based simulation, 3-D treatment planning, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and high- and low-dose image-guided radiation therapy. He specializes in prostate brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiosurgery. Dr. Pablo is trained in both the CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System and the TrueBeam Radiotherapy system. He is licensed to practice medicine in Georgia and South Carolina. Dr. Pablo is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.

M. Douglas Mullins

Dr. Douglas Mullins received his bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary and his doctor of medicine degree from Vanderbilt. Following that, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at the University of Virginia. Presently, he is medical director for Candler Hospital's ICU and Pulmonary Services as well as clinical instructor at Mercer University School of Medicine. He co-chair of the Thoracic Multi-Disciplinary Team. Dr. Mullins is board certified in sleep medicine, critical care medicine, pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. He specializes in robotic bronchoscopy. Dr. Mullins is licensed in Georgia. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and American Association of Bronchology.

Mark A. Taylor

Dr. Mark Taylor received his bachelor's degree in biology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and his doctor of medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Following that, he did an internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Taylor has extensive research experience and is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology. He is currently in practice at Summit Cancer Care, P.C.

Meet Candra Murray

Meet Candra Murray, oncology infusion manager at our LCRP Jesup practice where we partner with Wayne Memorial Hospital. Candra, who is an oncology certified nurse (OCN), is responsible for working with the team to provide the best care to patients by offering the latest medications and treatment regimens and helping educate both patients and fellow nurses. She also helps the office staff with scheduling and other questions, putting out any "little fires" along the way to ensure patient care is the No. 1 priority.

Meet Debbie Christian

Meet Debbie Christian, facilities manager for the LCRP. Debbie has worked for St. Joseph's/Candler for 25 years and helped open the doors of the LCRP 16 years ago, where she remains today. As facilities manager, Debbie wears many hats, including making sure the inside and outside of the building appear properly, making sure equipment and amenities are working correctly and overseeing construction projects. She also helps order furniture and helps oversee other LCRP locations such as Bluffton and Pembroke.

She is also responsible for day-to-day operations of the staff and providers and making sure schedules are aligned.

Meet Isabelle Puckett, oncology protocol nurse for our infusion centers in Pembroke and Statesboro. Isabelle has worked for St. Joseph's/Candler for 24 years. Prior to this past year, she was the resource coordinator at Candler Hospital on the fourth floor, which is our oncology unit. She joined the LCRP a year ago to help cancer patients in an outpatient setting in our rural areas of Pembroke and Statesboro. She serves as the liaison between the patient and the physician, the pre-cert team, pharmacy and infusion nurses to ensure cohesive transition of treatment for the patient. She also does a daily check of chemotherapy regiments to ensure accurate and safe treatment and helps with any barriers the patient may experience.

Marcia likes to tell patients that social workers are able to assist with resources and services needed not related to their medical treatment. She can help with transportation needs or equipment that maybe needed in the home. She can connect patients to resources and foundations in the community that can offer support. Anything that the patient, nurse or doctor identifies as a concern or need, Marcia and the other social workers will try to do whatever they can to help. That applies to caregivers too.

Richard J. Greco

Dr. Richard Greco graduated summa cum laude from Ursinus College with a bachelor's degree in biology and magna cum laude from Jefferson Medical College with a doctor of medicine degree. His postgraduate work and studies included a general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a hand fellowship at The Philadelphia Hand Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh; and an aesthetic surgery fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York City.
