Aidan Rylatt

Aidan specialises in supporting health, humanitarian and migrant rights charities including the Refugee Council, Alcohol Health Alliance UK and Pancreatic Cancer UK. His work with Let Us Learn (now We Belong) was part of our winning entry for the Better Society Awards Consultancy of the Year Award. Alongside his other work, Aidan currently manages our work with The Hepatitis C Trust on a day-to-day basis. Before joining Principle, Aidan worked in local politics in the Energy and Environment team of a public affairs consultancy, and in the project team of a not-for-profit organisation running school improvement programmes. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Politics from the University of Leicester and a Masters in Parliamentary Politics from the University of Leeds, during which he worked in Caroline Lucas MP's House of Commons office.

Arub Iqbal

Job Titles:

Before joining Principle, Arub worked as a copywriter with the faith-based mental health charity, Inspirited Minds where she supported research, wrote briefings, and produced reports for the charity's campaign work. In her spare time, she is a Volunteer Manager for Inara Project, a start-up charity which focuses on supporting refugee and homeless women. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Politics and International Relations from Queen Mary University of London.

Becky Hug

Becky has over a decade of experience in policy, public affairs and campaigns and has delivered strategy, support and training to charity clients across a broad range of policy areas. Becky's clients have included St John Ambulance, The Hepatitis C Trust, Nurtureuk, Depaul UK, Missing People, The Children's Society, and the Refugee Council. Becky's work for The Hepatitis C Trust was awarded the Communiqué Award for "Excellence in Communications - policymakers" and shortlisted for the Third Sector Excellence Awards' "Big Impact" Award.

Elliot Bidgood

Job Titles:
  • Senior Consultant
At Principle, Elliot supports Volunteering Matters and several health charities. Before joining Principle, Elliot worked for over five years on research and marketing for a charity-focused management and recruitment consultancy, working with charity clients focused on health, social welfare, housing and other causes. He was previously also a research intern at the Centre for Cities. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Politics from the University of Southampton and an MA in Public Policy from King's College London. He is a volunteer with Hackney Foodbank and has been an NHS volunteer.

Helen Ross

Job Titles:

Helen previously worked for Macmillan Cancer Support developing policy and leading influencing campaigns on a range of issues from access to treatments, NHS structures, and end of life care. Prior to this she worked for a political think tank writing and publicising reports on both health and education policy. She has also lived and worked overseas, including working with a small development focused NGO, writing reports, and promoting their work with local, and international, donors. Helen holds a degree in Geography from the University of Cambridge and alongside her work is studying for a Masters in Public Health through the University of Edinburgh.

Jane Cox

With fourteen years' experience in politics, Jane has worked in parliament and with a range of charities across many sectors, including health, international development, refugee and education. Since joining Principle in 2007, Jane has developed a reputation as a first-class policy analyst and public affairs specialist, implementing successful public affairs strategies that achieve tangible change for charities including the Refugee Council, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, and Pancreatic Cancer UK. Jane has also led effective coalition campaigns including Publish What You Pay and the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce. Passionate about education, Jane is a governor of a local junior school. Prior to joining Principle, Jane worked in Parliament as a Researcher and as the Welfare Officer for Sheffield University Student's Union. Jane holds a degree in History from Sheffield University and Certificate in International Development from Birkbeck College.

Laura Pascal

Job Titles:

Before joining Principle, Laura was a civil servant, working on policy, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications first at the Department of Health and Social Care and then at the Department for Education. Her wide range of policy includes adult social care markets, early education and childcare, and education recovery as well as strategic communications across the education sectors. Laura studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of York and also has an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalisation from the London School of Economics.
