BATTALION OIL MANAGEMENT - Key Persons
Ajay Jegadeesan has served as a Director of Battalion Oil since May 2023 and currently serves as a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance and the Reserves Committee. Mr. Jegadeesan is a Senior Advisor within the Global Opportunities fund at Oaktree Capital where he is responsible for managing investments in the energy sector across capital structures. Prior to joining Oaktree in 2018, Mr. Jegadeesan worked in various engineering, leadership, exploration, asset development, and operational roles at W.D. Von Gonten and Company, a boutique engineering advisory firm, where he led the due diligence and asset valuations for financial institutions and E&P companies culminating in deployment of over 20+ billion dollars in capital from 2011-2018 and Nutech Energy Alliance, and Schlumberger Technology Corporation. Mr. Jegadeesan holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston. Mr. Jegadeesan also currently serves as a Director on the Board of Sierra Energy Holdings and PureWest Energy.
Charles E. Martin serves as Vice President, Controller. Mr. Martin joined Battalion Oil in September 2012. He has over 20 years of oil and gas experience. Prior to joining Battalion Oil, he most recently served as Accounting Manager of Southwestern Energy Company with responsibilities over Accounts Receivable, Regulatory and Marketing Accounting. While working at Southwestern Energy Company, Mr. Martin served as the Finance Co-Team Lead on a two-year multi-phase ERP System implementation. Mr. Martin holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Arkansas.

Daniel P. Rohling serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Rohling joined Battalion Oil in July 2019. He has approximately 15 years of oil and gas operations experience. Prior to joining Battalion Oil, he served as the Asset Vice President at Ajax Resources, LLC ("Ajax"), until it sold substantially all of its assets to Diamondback Energy, Inc. in October 2018 for $1.2 billion. Mr. Rohling began his career at EP Energy Corporation (El Paso Corporation) as an engineer and held various roles in operations, reservoir engineering, business development and management. Mr. Rohling holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
David Chang has served as Director of Battalion Oil since October 2019 and currently serves as a member of the Reserves Committee and Chairman of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Chang is a Vice President at LSP Investment Advisors where he is responsible for originating and managing investments in the energy sector across capital structures. Prior to joining LSP Investment Advisors in 2011, Mr. Chang was an analyst in the Global Energy investment banking group at Credit Suisse. Mr. Chang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from Columbia University.
Gregory Hinds has served as Director of Battalion Oil since October 2019 and as Chairman of the Reserves Committee and as a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. Mr. Hinds is the founder of Fenceline Minerals, a privately held limited liability company . Prior to forming Fenceline, Mr. Hinds was the Chief Operating Officer of Jagged Peak Energy, LLC, having joined Jagged Peak at its' inception in April 2013. Prior to his tenure at Jagged Peak, Mr. Hinds was Chief Operating Officer of Ute Energy, a private equity backed oil and gas company with operations focused in the Uinta Basin of Northeastern Utah. Ute was sold in November of 2012. Before Ute, Mr. Hinds was the Vice President of Uinta Basin Assets for the Bill Barrett Corporation , where he was primarily responsible for the development of the West Tavaputs field as well as Barrett's Blacktail Ridge and Lake Canyon properties. Prior to joining Bill Barrett, he served as Geological Manager for Pennaco Energy and as an Exploration Geologist for Barrett Resources. Mr. Hinds holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in Geology from Texas A&M University. He is a Registered Professional Geologist in Utah, Wyoming and Texas.
Jonathan Barrett has served as a Director of Battalion Oil since May 2020 and currently serves as Chairman of Board and member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. He joined Luminus in 2003 shortly after its founding and has led the firm since 2011. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Barrett served as Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee of LS Power Equity Advisors, the private equity arm of LS Power, a former affiliate of Luminus focused on the North American power and energy infrastructure industries. Prior to joining Luminus, Mr. Barrett was a Director in Salomon Smith Barney's Merger and Acquisition Group. Mr. Barrett graduated with honors in Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mr. Barrett's extensive financial, equity markets and energy trading and infrastructure experience, in addition to his extensive knowledge across the energy infrastructure industry provides him with valuable insights into corporate strategy, capital allocation, transaction considerations, equity and debt financing and the assessment and management of risks faced by energy companies.

Matthew (Matt) Steele is a seasoned executive who has founded and managed businesses in the
energy, hospitality, real estate, and technology industries. He has extensive experience in E&P
Operations, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Capital Markets. Mr. Steele was most recently the
CEO of Bruin E&P Partners, a Bakken focused E&P company. During the last decade, he has
served as CEO of numerous energy companies including Steele Petroleum, Ursa Resources, Ursa
Resources Group I and II, Bruin E&P, and BMFGCo. Mr. Steele serves on the Boards of Bruin

Russell W. Greco serves as Vice President of Strategy and Planning. Mr. Greco joined Battalion Oil in August 2019. He has approximately 13 years of oil and gas experience. Prior to joining Battalion Oil, he served as the Asset and Reservoir Manager of Sierra Resources, which sold substantially all of its assets to SilverBow Resources. Mr. Greco began his career at EP Energy Corporation (El Paso Corporation) as an engineer and held various roles in operations, asset development, reservoir engineering, business development and management. Mr. Greco holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, an MBA from Rice University, and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Walter Mayer - Chief Legal Officer, SVP

Walter Mayer serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel. Mr. Mayer joined Battalion Oil in March 2013. He has over eighteen years of legal experience focusing on the oil and gas industry. Previously, he served as Associate General Counsel at Petrohawk Energy Corporation starting in 2010 and stayed on after its acquisition by BHP Billiton until joining Battalion Oil. Before Petrohawk, Walter worked in the Litigation Group of Vinson & Elkins focusing on commercial energy litigation. Walter served as Co-Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation's Energy Litigation Committee and also served as Editor-In-Chief for the Energy Litigation Journal (a publication of the ABA's Section of Litigation). Walter graduated from The University of Virginia School of Law and has been recognized for his accomplishments in Texas Monthly as a "Texas Rising Star." He is board certified in oil, gas and mineral law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
William Rogers has served as a Director of Battalion Oil since June 2021 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance as a member of the Compensation Committees. Mr. Rogers, is Managing Partner of CCE Advisory, LLC and CCE Investments LLC, providing advisory services to private equity infrastructure funds. Mr. Rogers previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CenterPoint Energy from March 2015 to April 2019 and as Executive Vice President, Finance and Accounting from February 2015 to March 2015. Prior to his tenure at CenterPoint Energy, Mr. Rogers was Vice President and Treasurer of American Water Works Company, Inc., the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, from October 2010 to January 2015. Mr. Rogers was also the Chief Financial Officer of NV Energy, Inc., an investor-owned utility headquartered in Las Vegas, from February 2007 to February 2010. He has previously served as NV Energy's Vice President of Finance, Risk and Tax, as well as Corporate Treasurer. Before joining NV Energy in June 2005, Mr. Rogers was a managing director in capital markets at Merrill Lynch and prior to that worked in a similar role at JPMorgan Chase in New York. Prior to his various roles across the utility, financial and banking industries, Mr. Rogers had a distinguished career as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Currently, Mr. Rogers serves as a director on the boards of Grupo Protexa and Verdant Power. He also previously served on the board of directors of Enable GP, LLC, the general partner of Enable Midstream Partners, LP, and as a member of the boards of directors of numerous non-profit organizations. Mr. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Business Administration Degree with concentration in Accounting and Finance from Duke University.
