Alex Wu

Alex was Vice President of Portfolio Analytics at an alternative asset manager focused on opportunistic investments in the private debt of specialty finance companies. He was responsible for conducting the analytical work on prospective and current investments, as well as for portfolio monitoring and risk management. Prior to the alternative asset manager, Alex was a faculty member of finance at a liberal arts university focusing on alternative investments and credit risk. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he published numerous articles in leading journals of finance and economics. Alex has spoken extensively at conferences pertaining to valuation, credit risk, and structured finance. He also served as an advisor to the California Debt and Investment Advisory Committee. Prior to his work in academia, Alex was a quantitative analyst at Morgan Stanley, performing portfolio risk analysis and cash flow modeling for relative-value trading strategies. Alex received his Ph.D. and MBA in Finance from Rutgers University. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with high honors from the University of Colorado.

Luke Powell

Luke has 19 years of investment management experience, 10 of which were focused on credit and esoteric assets. Luke worked at Prosper Marketplace, overseeing capital markets for the leading consumer loan platform. In this role, he conducted marketing of the platform to institutional investors and supervised the on-boarding process for new accounts purchasing loans. He was also instrumental in creating the process of due diligence for any fund or service provider to work with the platform. Prior to Prosper, Luke was Managing Partner at Élan Alternative Group ("Élan"), a leading private placement agent, which he owns and operates. At Élan, Luke is the head of manager research, specializing in credit and fin-tech analysis. In addition to his expertise due diligencing managers, Luke performs institutional marketing of the underlying funds Élan contracts with through his associated Broker-Dealer. Prior to Prosper, Luke spent several years in business development for technology companies in New York and San Francisco. Notably, he spent four years at the financial media company TheStreet.com where he was responsible for new revenue generation. He also spent two years at internet search firm Ask.com where he was responsible for syndicating out its technology and managing the process of implementation. Luke started his career at investment banking firm Robertson Stephens where he focused on venture distribution and corporate services, including cash management solutions. Luke received his Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), in addition to possessing both his Series 7 and 63 licenses. Outside of work, Luke, his wife Lobi, and their four children are active volunteers with Bay Area Community Foundations. Luke is a Managing Partner of Elan and acts as exclusive Capital Markets executive as a registered representative through his affiliated Broker-Dealer, Growth Capital Services.

Rob McGregor - CEO

Rob was Vice President of Investments at an alternative asset manager focused on opportunistic investments in the private debt of specialty finance companies. He was responsible for supporting all aspects of the firm's investment process, including: origination; due diligence; underwriting; term sheet and legal documentation negotiation and execution; and portfolio monitoring. Reporting into the Chief Investment Officer, Rob sourced and evaluated the deal pipeline, managed internal and external constituents, as well as produced investment memorandum to support investment theses. Prior to the alternative asset manager, Rob worked at Credit Suisse within the Asset Finance function in Credit Risk Management. He focused on esoteric, consumer, and commercial assets where he was responsible for performing due diligence, underwriting, analysis, risk managing, and monitoring. Prior to Credit Suisse, Rob was a fundamental credit analyst at Moody's Investors Service where he analyzed and monitored a portfolio of financial institutions, primarily focused on specialty finance companies, as well as banks and non-bank lenders. He was responsible for performing analysis, contributing to research publications, managing proprietary databases, as well as producing presentations for internal and external consumption on both a company- and industry-specific basis. Rob received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management. Outside of work, Rob enjoys playing ice hockey, as well as traveling and hiking with his wife Andrea and their dog Cooper.
