Anita Chatfield

Anita is a Nurse with a Masters of Public Health. She has over 12 years' experience primarily in the Emergency Department alongside placements with DABIT and the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court. Many of those years doing night shift have resulted in her becoming quite the coffee connoisseur! She is passionate about bringing her medical knowledge into providing biopsychosocial care for clients and breaking down stigma.

Bec Mounsey

Job Titles:
  • Social Worker - Dovetail
graduated as a Social Worker in 2013. She has supported both young people and adults in her roles as youth worker, family case manager, group work facilitator and alcohol and other drugs counsellor in the not-for-profit sector. Bec has a particular interest in complex trauma and its link to AOD use. She is passionate about reducing the stigma and shame felt by people in AOD treatment.

Ben Dougherty

Job Titles:

Ben leads the multimedia team to produce print and digital content for Insight and Dovetail. Experience in the youth sector, AOD, digital production, print media and education has resulted in Ben leading the development of a range of diverse AOD training materials such as webinars, videos, animations, eLearning, textbooks, factsheets, campaigns and websites.

Chloy is a proud Wakka Wakka woman who has worked with Queensland Health for over a decade in Social and Emotional Wellbeing roles specialising in AOD and mental health.

Christian White

Job Titles:
  • Administration Officer
With over 10 years' experience in administration across a variety of government and non-government industries, Christian brings a compassionate and client-focussed approach and strong administration skills to the team. In his spare time he likes playing netball, taking the dog out for walks and play dates, and hanging out with friends and family.

Denny Ryan

Job Titles:
  • Project Officer - Video Production
It was a vhs copy of Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing that sent Denny onto a path of making moving pictures. He now has many years experience working in video production and post production. His experience includes lifestyle television, art documentaries, music videos, short films and corporate videos and has worked hands-on in all aspects of video creation. Denny now collaborates with the Insight and Dovetail teams to transform their knowledge and skills into engaging and educational videos.

Dr Ben Walters

Job Titles:
  • Advanced Clinical Educator - Psychologist
Ben is a Clinical Psychologist with approximately 10 years experience working in the mental health sector. During this time, he has worked in a range of different service types including community mental health, hospital, private practice, and university settings. He also has a number of years experience as a clinical educator, both designing and delivering training. Ben feels strongly about advocating for equal access to services, and fully understanding the people who utilise services. He also believes that, wherever possible, training and professional development should be fun and tries to bring this into his training deliveries. In his spare time, Ben is trying to get better at mountain biking.

Dr Hoi Yan (Karen) Li

Job Titles:
  • Advanced Clinical Educator - Psychologist
Karen is a Clinical Psychologist and Board approved supervisor for psychologists. She is a jack of all trades with experience working with adults, children, families in areas of community mental health, persistent pain, tobacco cessation and AOD. She has experience with research, giving lectures, group facilitation, counselling and workforce development. She may be small, but makes up for it with personality.

Imogen Malone

Imogen is a Brisbane born and raised Aboriginal woman whose family come from Cherbourg and Murgon, north west of Brisbane. Her cultural heritage includes the Wangan and Jagalingou people from Central Queensland. She has worked in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services over the last 10 years in a variety of roles across training, projects and service development both locally and state-wide. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach and spending quality time with close friends and family.

James Hoey

Job Titles:
  • Team Leader
James is our Advanced Clinical Education Coordinator. He is a Psychologist with 20 years' experience providing therapeutic and AOD in residential programs, youth services, the military, the courts, policy and most recently in AOD community clinics. He is interested in the development of evidence-based models of care and ensuring that access for people experiencing AOD issues and their loved ones is always at the forefront of service design. When not at work, he enjoys the simple pleasures of farm life.

Jeff Buckley

Jeff is a Social Worker with 20 years' experience in alcohol and drug practice, youth homelessness, community development and adult education. He has a particular interest in the art of group facilitation, interactive games, team problem-solving and trivia competitions! He hopes to one day invent the best boardgame in history and retire to the beach.

Karen Petty

Karen is an Occupational Therapist with over 15 years' experience working in dual diagnosis and tobacco treatment across a range of inpatient and community settings. She has also recently completed a Masters Degree in Addiction Studies. Karen has an interest in trauma-informed care and loves travelling and being in nature!

Karl Lacis

Karl has worked in the youth alcohol and drug sector in direct practice through to service management roles both in Australia and the United Kingdom. More recently he has worked in Queensland's child, youth and family support sector on sector and workforce planning and development initiatives. He now brings these two worlds together to support a sustainable youth AOD workforce in Queensland. Karl is passionate about social justice… and surfing!

Krystal Scott

Krystal began her career in the justice sector before working in a support role with families affected by alcohol and drugs which eventually led her to join the team at Insight. She now brings her supreme organisational skills and warm person-centred approach to coordinating the business requirements across our team. Friendly and unflappable, she's also a big live-music fan and a part-time yoga guru.

Laura Harriss

With over 12 years' experience in administration and program coordination across a variety of industries including insolvency and travel, Laura brings a sharp systems approach to supporting our external partners and internal team to deliver contracted projects. She is also our team's self-appointed social club manager! If you have a question about Insight and Laura doesn't know it, it's unknowable.

Rosie Hansen

Rosie is a fresh Graphic Design graduate with an enthusiasm for design with purpose. Having had an 8 year career in community pharmacy before her venture into graphic design, Rosie has developed and nurtured a passion for health and community, and enjoys creating colourful and meaningful design to aid our AOD workers. Some of Rosie's favourite things are singing, watching movies and snuggling up with her 2 cats on a rainy day.

Samantha Clark

Sam is a is a credentialed Mental Health and credentialed Alcohol and Drug nurse with over 27 years' experience across government services in Queensland, the Northern Territory and in the National Health Service in the UK. She has a particular interest in Dual Diagnosis and Cognitive Behavioural Integrated Treatment. She also bakes a mean cake!

Tracey Swan

Tracey is a Nurse with over 10 years' experience in drug and alcohol treatment including OTP, Corrections and dual diagnosis roles. She also has a post-grad in Addiction and Mental Health. Having previously worked at Insight on the SCOT Project, she brings a passionate approach to normalising treatment, reducing stigma and ensuring vulnerable people receive the best possible AOD care.
