The founder of JP Labs, Dr. Gordhan Patel received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. (1970) from Sardar Patel University, India. He worked as a post doctoral fellow at the University of Bristol, Bristol, England (1970-1973) and Baylor University, Waco, Texas (1973-1974). He worked as a research associate at Corporate R&D Center of Honeywell, Morristown, NJ, from 1975 - 1982. He started JP Laboratories Inc, Middlesex, NJ, in 1983. Dr. Patel has 120 issued and pending US and foreign patents, published 70 research papers and given 100 invited lectures in many countries. He has developed a number of new patented products and processes, some of them are licensed and one/RADTriage he manufactures. About 100 articles are written in media on his work and inventions. After September 11, 2001, he accepted the responsibility of developing a citizen's radiation dosimeter, RADTriage. For developing RADTriage, he received several recognitions and awards.
