In 1998, Anthony came to RLP as an alumnus of Columbia University and the University of Southern California. In his youth, Anthony was inspired by his cousin, an interior designer, to begin drawing houses. Of the many projects on which Anthony has worked, the HKYWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge is his number one. This was his first design project at RLP and the one which established his career. This humble but architecturally brilliant building is functional, striking and blends perfectly into its natural surroundings. It's no coincidence that Anthony loves the outdoors - hiking, nature walks and especially orienteering - his home is actually filled with orienteering trophies his has won over the years!

Bryant Lu

Expertise: A strong advocate for human-centric, future-ready, sustainable architecture and design, Bryant is a Cornell University alumnus and has been an RLPer since 2000. Bryant has devoted his career to reshaping the architecture industry by raising awareness of sustainable design. Under his leadership, RLP has become a pioneer in sustainability throughout Asia, and has won over 300 awards - 60 of which recognise RLP's sustainability-related efforts. Bryant has always been hands-on with RLP projects throughout Asia, and is particularly keen on promoting transport-oriented development in mainland China. He feels these projects create large-scale positive impacts, especially in places where urbanisation is happening quickly. His multidisciplinary focus at work follows him at play - Bryant is just as well-rounded as an athlete: You can find him on the golf course, on the ski slopes, or at triathlon races!

Chan Chi Chung

Highly familiar with TOD, office, commercial, and comprehensive developments in mainland China. Chung, an alumnus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong who arrived at RLP in 2010, believes that architecture is one of the world's most challenging occupations, requiring a rational and sensible personality. Each project architect faces a distinct, demanding set of circumstances and one must keep learning and moving forward. TODTOWN in Shanghai is his favourite project - as the first TOD project in mainland China, he had to overcome the enormous challenge of creating a "new thing" within an existing system. TODTOWN also marked the commencement of his new life in Shanghai, allowing him to make new friends in other fields, and exposing him to a myriad of different life stories outside of architecture. He believes in constant exploration and takes this to the limit in his personal life - participating in many outdoor activities, all kinds of ball games, hiking, diving, surfing, badminton, cycling and more!

An alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of New South Wales, Dr Lu founded Ronald Lu & Partners in 1976 on the premise that architecture has the power to change lives and make the world a better place. He continues to believe this today. Among the hundreds of projects on which Dr Lu has worked, he particularly enjoyed collaborating with the master architect Frank Gehry on Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre at Tuen Mun Hospital, a space that provides a healing experience and promotes mental wellness in cancer patients, their caretakers and families through its carefully-designed features. Henry Cheung

Registered Architect #DesignGreenerLife Expertise: Projects in mainland China - from the concept stage to the detailed design stage, including super high-rise, mega-comprehensive developments and corporate campuses. Henry's passion for architecture began as a child, when he learned drawing and photography from his uncle. He began taking photos and making sketches of the streets of Hong Kong soon he was off! A graduate of the University of Hong Kong, he joined RLP in 2011 and immediately began working on numerous large projects. His favourite? Integral in Guilin, our unique industrial eco-garden project. He cites the synergy and teamwork he enjoyed with the client's highly-motivated project management team as they worked together to create a beautiful, meaningful place. In his spare time, Henry reads and writes fiction, escaping to other gardens - those in his own imagination.

Isopel Cheng

PRC Class I Registered Architect #DesignSmarterLife Expertise: Business development; project coordination and management, especially for highly complex projects involving multiple partners and authorities. When Isopel was a student, a verse written by Du Pu, a legendary poet-historian which asked "how can society create more houses for the less fortunate?" resonated deeply with her. Since then, she has been determined to improve people's lives by designing better buildings for them. A graduate of the Beijing University of Technology, she joined RLP in 2004. Her most memorable RLP project is the Vanke Wonderland TOD Development in Foshan which was launched in early 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. Despite this less-than-perfect timing, Isopel and the RLP team worked with Vanke to push the project forward. Today, the project is one of the most talked-about projects in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation High-end Service Demonstration Zone. Her personal interests are fascinatingly varied: Isopel is a member of the Beijing Cultural Relics Protection Association, she is a fan of Chinese classical architecture and traditional culture, a fancier of Peking Opera and calligraphy, painting and seal carving. She is also an avid astronomy enthusiast and volunteers at Beijing Planetarium where she explains the mysteries of the universe to visiting students.

His most satisfying project so far is the CIC Zero Carbon Park - a truly sustainable design and something that had never been done in Hong Kong. Zhang Hua is a graduate of the South China University of Technology. He came to architecture for practical reasons: he scored so well in high school which enabled him to choose architecture, one of the most difficult faculties to get in, as his major. He always thought it would be cool to turn the buildings of his fantasies into actual buildings. After joining RLP in 2009, he has since worked on numerous projects in mainland China. His most memorable is Guangzhou Parc Central - this was his first project at RLP and it gave him great joy to design this unique and challenging development, creating a new central axis for the city that is viewed with great affection by the citizens. Zhang Hua is a passionate filmmaker. One day, he hopes to film his autobiography - and perhaps even direct it.

Zhuang Wen Liang

#DesignSmarterLife Expertise: An acute sense of design and problem solving abilities. He provides "through-train service" from design to build, especially for highly complicated projects. An alumnus of Guangzhou University, Liang joined RLP in 2004. He has always been partial to math, physics, spatial perception, and painting - so architecture was the perfect career choice for him as it combines all of these fields. The conceptual architectural design of Guangfohui and the surrounding urban area is a very special project for Liang - it was his first international competition. His design won first place and the bid, beating out nearly 100 international first-tier firms - a boost to his career and to the morale of his team. Liang often sketches with his family when travelling, which he believes helps him appreciate the scenery. He is also a badminton enthusiast who has participated in several amateur competitions.
