She is a qualified PHP MySQL programmer who has developed and launched over 100 websites. Since 2010 she has managed internal IT for the company along with HTML email communications and effective social media to support technology and innovation. She enjoys interacting with clients and organising specialist events for the marine industry.

James Ellison

James has extensive experience ranging from IT project management to development of E-Learning solutions and personal development. James brings a unique skills profile to our team, matching a passion and knowledge of the ocean with an astute business background, alongside a track record of implementing change in blue chip organisations. By utilising the digital RIB & HSC platform along with NEXT GEN events, he is introducing a new perspective with solutions designed to benefit our clients at all levels.

Jamie Helsby

John Haynes - Managing Director

John is an Associate Fellow of The Nautical Institute, Commercial Yachtmaster Ocean and Advanced Powerboat Instructor. Subject matter expertise includes 30 years professional sector training, consultancy and strategic product development. He has worked with over 100 organisations including military, SAR, police, commercial operators, designers, OEM equipment manufacturers and boat builders. He writes specialist articles on future requirements and new technology for maritime publications and chairs international conferences. John Haynes, Managing Director of Shock Mitigation, is an Associate Fellow of The Nautical Institute, Fellow of RINA (Royal Institution of Naval Architects), Yachtmaster Ocean and Advanced Powerboat Instructor. He was voted Maritime Professional of the Year at Seawork 2016. The award celebrates exemplary individuals within the maritime sector. Presenting the award in front of hundreds of industry professionals at The Vestry in Southampton, BBC News presenter Laura Trant said that, ‘John Haynes has been voted Maritime Professional of the Year for his passion, innovation and dedication to the marine industry'. The nomination said, ‘John Haynes is a thought leader in the high speed craft, shock mitigation and hybrid marine power sectors with a unique ability to engage and create momentum globally. John has a passion for these sectors, rooted in his own maritime background. He has a genuine vision of improving people's lives on boats. His work with over 100 organisations is testament to this.' He has chaired technical conferences ranging from ‘The Future Of Wind Farm Support Vessels' to ‘Fast Interception and Riverine Operations'. He has written numerous papers on future requirements and new technology. He is known for organising workshops with high level panel discussions to help solve industry issues. In 2015 he set up a working group to assist the MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) create a Marine Guidance Note for lithium-ion and energy storage on vessels. His hybrid concept ‘The Hour Of Power', combining diesel - battery - electric, has the potential to reduce fuel consumption and emissions for vessels worldwide.

Matt Haynes

Matt is a qualified Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor and Sports Massage Therapist. He understands human body biomechanics, including the forces exerted by muscles and gravity on the skeletal structure during dynamic workplace activities such as fast boat operations. He is a competitive athlete which has enabled him to develop the concept of 'prehab rather than rehab', which focuses on specific exercises to reduce the incidence of injury. Matt is highly motivated to work with individuals and groups in the marine sector.

Peter Foot

Job Titles:
  • Science & Engineering Advisor
Peter spent the majority of his career as a UK crown civil servant within the Ministry of Defence, developing skills in creative design and project management of military systems in the Land environment and across all defence lines of development. His marine projects have encompassed high speed combat support craft, specialist boats and amphibious vehicles with load capacity to ferry main battle tanks. Peter had a major role in successful scientific studies to apply full motion simulation media within the training environment.
