Chung chi Yu

Dr. Yu is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and Cornea Specialist who offers the latest treatment modalities in laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK), cataract surgery, and cornea diseases. Dr. Yu graduated with top honors from Cornell University and finished with a top 3 GPA in his class. He went on to receive his medical degree and residency training in ophthalmology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He scored in the 99 percentile on the ophthalmic knowledge (OKAP) exam among his peers in the nation and was honored with the academic excellence award. He then went to Boston and completed a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the Tufts New England Medical Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, which are one of the leading corneal research and clinical trials center in the country, respectively. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Bradley J. Phillips

Dr. Bradley J. Phillips is a graduate of Cornell University and SUNY-Stony Brook College of Medicine. After medical school, he completed an internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and his residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology, with the esteemed Dr. Arthur H. Wolintz, former Department Chair and Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology at SUNY-Downstate. Dr. Bradley J. Phillips has maintained a practice that offers laser vision correction (LASIK or Surface Ablation), Laser Assisted or bladeless Cataract surgery, and neuro-ophthalmology in Somerset, New Jersey and the surrounding communities. For the past decade, he has proven himself to be one of the most respected ophthalmologists in the community where he is among the distinguished ophthalmology physician staff at both Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peter�s University Hospital.

Dr. John S. Kung

Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. John S. Kung is highly knowledgeable in the field of Ophthalmology, serving patients in Staten Island and New Jersey. He is a summa cum laude, valedictorian-nominated graduate of the City College of New York. He became a distinguished graduate of Mt. Sinai School of Medicine where he earned a special designation with distinction in research. He served his residency and chief residency in ophthalmology at Columbia University � Presbyterian Medical Center, Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute, whose mission is to train the future leaders of Ophthalmology. He completed a postgraduate fellowship in cornea, refractive and anterior segment surgery at Raritan Bay Medical Center. He has an additional postgraduate certification in retinal diseases. He has been a consultant to many companies including Novartis, Allergan, Alcon and Pharmacia. He is the author of A Patient�s Guide to LASIK on laser vision correction and has published many articles on eye diseases and surgical techniques. Dr. Kung is a frequent instructor in new techniques for eye surgery and often has other doctors referring difficult cases while coming to the OR to observe his techniques. He lectures nationally and internationally on eye diseases and surgical procedures and has provided care to the underserved on mission trips abroad. Dr. John S. Kung is active in many professional societies. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American College of Eye Surgeons, the International Society for Refractive Surgery, the New York State Ophthalmological Society and the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology. In his spare time, he enjoys travel with his family, tennis and reads widely on many topics.

Dr. Tasneem F. Shamim

Dr. Tasneem F. Shamim received her Bachelors Degree in chemistry with honors in 1977 from Rutgers College after 2 years of study. After her undergraduate studies, she attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. In 1981, she began her postdoctoral training in medicine at Robert Wood Johnson, and in 1985 completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. Dr. Shamim is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Shamim has worked in New Jersey for her entire professional career. She has had her private practice in ophthalmology in Somerset, NJ for over 25 years. As well as practicing full time, Dr. Shamim works as a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She has also participated in FDA studies as Clinical Research Investigator for various cholesterol, neurological and psychiatric drugs.

Eric Gershenbaum

Eric Gershenbaum, MD, of the Witlin Center for Advanced Eye Care, serving East Brunswick, Toms River, and Morristown, New Jersey, received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. At the completion of medical school at Rutgers University, he was presented with the Academic Achievement Award, an honor reserved for the top two students in each graduating class. Continuing his pursuit of his medical knowledge, Dr. Gershenbaum conducted research in the ocular oncology department at the distinguished Wills Eye Hospital. He completed his residency training at the world-renowned Emory Eye Center in Atlanta. Dr. Gershenbaum has over 11 years of clinical experience and is trained in the most advanced cataract and refractive surgical techniques. Having performed thousands of surgeries using cutting-edge technology, he customizes each surgery according to the patients individual needs. Most importantly, he believes in providing the best patient care possible. A lecturer and clinical instructor and published author, Dr. Gershenbaum is a recipient of the Consumers Research Council of America Top Ophthalmologist award.

Lawrence Najarian

Lawrence V. Najarian, MD is a second generation, Armenian American and is the founder and medical director of the Bedminster Eye and Laser Center in Bedminster, New Jersey. Dr. Najarian is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has served Bedminster and surrounding communities for close to 30 years. He attended college at The John Hopkins University, medical school at University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency in ophthalmology at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center. He received special training at Moorsfield Eye Hospital in London and has published several medical articles. After completing a fellowship in ocular immunology at Emory University, he joined the faculty of both New York University and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he currently teaches the residents in training. Dr. Najarian has served as President of the Armenian American Health Professional Organization (AAHPO) since 2006 and has also served on the Board of the Armenian Eye Care Project. Through these organizations he has participated in multiple medical missions.

Rajen Desai

Rajen Desai MD, FACS is a board certified cataract and glaucoma surgeon with the Witlin Center for Advanced Eye Care. Dr. Desai graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. with honors from Stanford University, followed by a M.D. from the Stanford School of Medicine, with an extra year of training in ophthalmology clinical research. He served as 2nd Lieutenant and pilot in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol in Texas, followed by residency, chief residency, and glaucoma fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Desai brings the latest advances of vision research to the operating room, including laser-assisted cataract surgery, advanced technology intraocular lens implants that provide both distance and near vision, and micro-invasive glaucoma surgery. Passionate about producing excellent surgical outcomes, he received the Patients Choice Award Best Teacher of Medical Students Award, and the 2018 America's Top Ophthalmologist award. Dr. Desai is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Glaucoma Society, the Society of Heed Fellows, and the American College of Surgeons.

Revathi Naadimuthu

Dr. Revathi Naadimuthu, known affectionately as Dr. Naadi by her staff and patients, is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Corneal specialist. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University being a member of the General Honors Program and the Golden Key Honor Society. She completed the highly esteemed 7-year BA/MD program through Rutgers University and UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and stayed on to complete her Internal Medicine Internship at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She then completed her Ophthalmology training at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Naadi was trained in Cornea, Refractive Surgery, and External Disease at the University of Texas, Southwestern in Dallas, TX. She is a highly skilled surgeon performing complicated anterior segment surgery, cataract surgery with advanced technology lens implants, and refractive surgery such as LASIK and PRK. She is proficient in corneal procedures such as penetrating keratoplasty (corneal transplant), DSAEK (Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty), INTACS, and collagen cross-linking. Dr. Naadi gives educational lectures to her peers discussing the latest corneal techniques and surgeries. She has been given the Vitals.com Patient Choice Compassionate Doctor award, has been featured in Whos Who, was named Top Doctor by NJ Top Docs, and has been elected to The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Naadi is on staff at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ and Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ.

Stephen Gordon

Dr. Gordon graduated magna cum laude from Temple University in 1974 with a B.A. in political science. He then attended New York Medical College, receiving his M.D. degree after 3 years in 1977. Dr. Gordon completed an internship in internal medicine in 1978 at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. After internship Dr. Gordon served as a Captain in the United States Army while stationed for two years in Karlsruhe, Germany. During army service Dr. Gordon tended to U.S. soldiers and their dependents. Upon his return to the States Dr. Gordon studied ophthalmology and completed his residency at New York Medical College, serving as Chief Resident at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, New York. While in private practice in Highland Park, New Jersey, Dr. Gordon co-founded the Somerset Eye Institute in 1996. He has also served as the Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology within the Department of Surgery at St. Peter�s University Medical Center for many years.

Surekha Collur

Dr. Collur is a board-certified Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Glaucoma. She is not only adept at traditional no-stitch cataract surgery but has experience with Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract surgery both Catalys and Lensx. She offers an array of premium lens implants such as Multifoal IOLs, Crystalens and Toric lens implants carefully choosing with the patient what is most appropriate for them. She is proficient in all aspects of glaucoma management including medical management, Minimally Invasive Glaucoma surgery (MIGS) such as Selective Laser Trabeculoplaty, iStent implant, Endocyclophotocoagulation and glaucoma surgical procedures such as Trabeculectomy and Tube shunts and Valves. She offers laser vision correction both PRK and bladeless LASIK. She performs upper lid Blepharoplasty for droopy upper eyelids. She trained in Ophthalmology at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. She then went on to be a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She performed Ophthalmic surgery at Royal Liverpool University Hospital. After relocating to this country she completed an internship at Presbyterian Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of Pennsylvania, a residency at SUNY Brooklyn and Glaucoma fellowship at New England Medical Center. Currently, she is the Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Having the experience of providing medical and surgical eye care on three continents gives her a unique perspective and confidence with new technology blended with respect for a holistic approach.
