In recent times, through Group-I & II APPSC (Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission), many deaf & hard of hearing candidates are employed into the Government. However, their productivity at the work-places remains an area of concern as several factors hinder the optimum utilization of their skills. Lack of awareness among employers, resistance by managements, and sometimes among disabled employees also, about the availability of assistive technologies for deaf; especially at operational levels, on providing additional budgets for purchase of these software, etc. are some of the major hurdles impeding the abilities of deaf & hard of hearing employees. The lack of an enabling environment to perform upto their full potential, results in high dissatisfaction in deaf & hard of hearing employees.
