Shri. K S M Guruswamy Nadar Guruswamy Nadar was born in 1904 in a remote village close to Virudhunagar,Tamil Nadu, a southern state of India.Born in a farming family, Guruswamy Nadar had very little formal education but loved to read and often listened to stories from the village elders. At a young age, Guruswamy Nadar had to move out of his village in search of work.Work took him far and wide, which helped him learning new languages and know new cultures. By 1931, at the age of 26, he returned to Coimbatore,where he worked in his cousin's restaurant. He later started his own cafe on Oppanakara Street, where business flourished. As years rolled by, he moved to his own premises next to Koniamman Temple.His long cherished desire to start a biryani delicacy restaurant was fulfilled when he came across a very talented chef who specialised in Biryani.
