Damon E. Thompson is an expert consultant with over twenty-three years of experience working in the public services sector specializing in community development, single-family housing development and neighborhood revitalization programs.
In 2012, Damon founded Thompson Business Services LLC, to assist small businesses (both for-profit and non-profit) with creating success strategies for long-term growth and sustainability. Damon provides individual business coaching to his clients who are looking to take their ideas from a mental concept to a visual reality. As a grant writer, he has secured funding for non-profits to provide programs that significantly impact the communities in which they serve. To date, he has secured over $6,500,000 in grant funds for non-profit organizations and helped his clients start over 60 new small businesses.
Damon facilitates monthly workshops specifically for small businesses on topics including: how to start your business, writing your business plan, the non-profit workshop series that covers 501c3 incorporation, selecting your board of directors, branding & marketing and how to write grants.
He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. He also serves on the non-profit board of the Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance.
