Hi! I am Emily behind Emily May Designs Studio. Whether I am traveling the world or cozying up at home, I love finding ways to share art with my friends. My journey began far away from home at the local markets in Oahu, Hawaii. While browsing around, the prettiest macrame wall hanging had caught my eye; it had bright yellow hibiscuses weaved with banana leaves into the macrame design. It had inspired me to go back home and design my own. Art has always been a part of my life. From painting my travels to calligraphy writing, the creative process and endless colors has always been something I enjoyed. Macrame became my obsession; I am constantly looking for new patterns and ideas I can make. My favorite pieces have to be the huge wall-hangings with accents of teal and cream. They are the most fun to make, and I get lost in my own world when I come up with unique patterns. I am always learning new techniques and I love being able to share my creations with the world.
