MALAY BIM

BIM is expected to rise in its role as a central database for cultural heritage supporting comprehensive data input for life-cycle management, and where multiple data are collected, stored and retrieved for various efforts including adaptive re-use and reconstruction... Malay architectural character in architecture, especially in urban buildings, is slowly disappearing in cities. Due to its vernacular origins such as traditional houses and palaces, to transpose such systems of construction which originate from timber construction is challenging but necessary. By breaking down into component and characterising, through systematic modelling, semantic enrichment, the Malay architecture constructional components are characterised and compiled in a database which will assist the documentation and management of Malay architectural heritage.
