Aaron Spiers

Aaron joined the team in 2022 as the fundriaisng and communications assistant, bringing a wealth of experience in media creation and communications roles. After a few months, Aaron moved to our training and community development department where he now works closely alongside Eleanor to deliver our accredited and non-accredited training and workshops to all sectors of the community. In his free time, Aaron enjoys music and ice hockey.

Dympna Maguire

Dympna Maguire is the Service Manager for PIPS Hope and Support. Dympna has been with PIPS since July 2008 and has been an integral component within the organisation and has contributed to its growth and success over this period. Dympna started her career as a graduate of St Mary's University Teaching College and took up the position of Training Officer with a local training and employment firm. She then progressed to become the IT Coordinator for a successful community training project before branching out as a Community Development Officer. Since joining PIPS Hope and Support, Dympna has been instrumental in setting up various administration, data collection and financial systems and has worked hard to establish the organisation's reputation of approachability, confidentiality and professionalism within the local community and further afield. As Service Manager, Dympna is concerned with the internal operations of the organisation, ensuring the necessary standards are implemented to ensure the smooth running of operations. She is responsible for the Finance Department and for overseeing the Administration and Training Departments as well as managing the overall running of all inhouse activities across each of our sites. Her vast experience of PIPS Hope & Support means she provides assistance to other departments ensuring that best practices are adhered to. Dympna is the first point of contact relating to anything financial or operational including service level agreements with external agencies. She is approachable and always happy to assist.

Laura McGuigan

Laura McGuigan is a part-time fundraisier with PIPS Hope and Support, and was previously the charities administrator/receiptionst. A friendly face that welcomed you to PIPS Hope and Support as you enter our fantastic facilities. Laura has been a key member of the team since 2014 and has a wealth of experience in the organisation including front of house, administration and fundraising. If you have any queries regarding fundraising, Laura is the go to girl and will be more than happy to help.

Louise Campbell

Louise Campbell has worked in the finance industry for the last 20 years, a qualified accountant (ACCA) working in a variety of businesses throughout her career including public, private and charity sectors. Currently, Louise works for Newry Credit Union as Finance Manager. Newry Credit Union is a not- for profit organsiation providing affordable loans and savings services to members. Louise is part of the senior management team, overseeing the financial transactions of the business and shared responsibility for governance and management arrangements of Newry CU.

Najla Basketfield

Najla serves as the Clinical Lead and Deputy CEO of PIPS Hope and Support, where she oversees a team of counsellors and first contact navigators while enhancing the organisation's governance. She is committed to collaborating with professionals in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention to meet the needs of our communities effectively. With a background as the Director of a Protect Life Community Interest Company in the Southern Trust for 6 years, Najla established and developed the organization following a personal experience with suicide in her family. This experience has deepened her understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families affected by suicide, driving her passion for this field. As a Registered General Nurse with nearly 30 years of management experience, Najla has managed two businesses and worked in various medical pharmaceutical and nursing roles. Her previous role as a Band 7 Health Protection Nurse with the Public Health Agency involved conducting risk assessments in acute response situations, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare landscape across different sectors. In her leisure time, Najla enjoys spending quality time with her husband and four children.

Olivia has been an integral member of the PIPS Hope & Support team since November 2012, serving as an administrator. With exceptional skills and a keen eye for detail, Olivia provided daily support to all staff, management, and counsellors. Prior to joining the PIPS team, Olivia worked in the financial industry, gaining years of experience in administration and accounts.

Seamus is the Founder and Chief Executive of PIPS Hope & Support, established in 2003 following the death of his son Seamas who tragically died, age 20 by suicide, since then the Charity has evolved into the leading suicide prevention charity in the Southern Trust, with premises in Newry & Lurgan and outreach hubs across the Southern Trust area and now employing 17 staff and delivering on a range of counselling & Suicide bereavement services and training programmes. Seamus is focused on innovative and expansion services that are available to vulnerable and is constantly seeking new and better ways of supporting those that are experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm or who need somewhere to go when mentally or emotionally distressed and more recently Seamus has been instrumental in the development and launch of the PIPS Hope & Support, WELL Bean Café, ( Crisis Café) the first of its kind in Northern Ireland, operating over weekends and evenings, aimed at adults and carers Seamus says his greatest love is spending much loved fun time with his 4 grandchildren and taking his two Yorkshire Terriers on long walks
