RAYMOND JAMES FINANCIAL SERVICES - Key Persons

Amie E. Marks

Job Titles:
  • Founder of WOMEN in
Amie E. Marks is the founder of WOMEN In the KNOW. The goal is to create a forum for women to discuss timely topics and world events. Women are welcome to participate in a genuine, non-judgmental, and educational get-off-the-couch conversation that will inspire them to raise questions, share opinions and speak in solutions. Amie has over 20 years of experience in financial services, beginning her career at the Chicago Board of Trade as an analyst for Refco, the largest clearing firm for futures. She moved into the financial markets in 1995 and worked for Securities Corporation of Iowa and Tucker Anthony, Inc. (Vice President), before joining Raymond James Financial Services as a Registered Principal in 2002. Her top-down approach to building financial plans allows great customization for clients, and Amie spends much of her time face-to-face with them. "Listening to my clients and helping them build their financial future is definitely my favorite part of the work," says Amie. In 2013, she founded Women in the Know as a perk for her female clients, and the forums have grown to be a passion for her. Amie has been married to her husband Thomas Marks for over 20 years, and their son, Thomas Henry Marks, Jr. (or TJ), is definitely the apple of Amie's eye. She is very active in their community of Lake Forest, serving on many school boards and local organizations, but is also involved in many organizations serving children and the arts in greater Chicago and even abroad. She has been an active philanthropist throughout her adult life.

Edward T. Baehrend

Ed has over 30 years of experience in financial services, at many well-known firms, such as Drexel Burnham Lambert (Vice President), Lehman Brothers (Vice President), Bear Stearns (Senior Managing Director), Tucker Anthony, Inc. (Senior Vice President), and joined Raymond James Financial Services as a Registered Principal in 2002. In the years he has been researching stocks and managing money, he has always felt the day-to-day interactions with clients is the highlight of his job. Away from work, Ed is a proud father to son, Ethan Edward Baehrend, and loving husband to Diana Baehrend of 25 years. They currently live in Chicago's Galewood Neighborhood, and have also lived in River Forest and Oak Park, where Ed served as a civilian trustee for the Oak Park policeman's pension fund. Ed is an avid bicyclist and marathon runner. He has completed over 100 marathons, including running a marathon in each of all 50 states. He is currently one marathon away from running all 7 continents. Ed Baehrend and Amie Marks met and began working together at Tucker Anthony, Inc. In 2002, when their firm was bought by the Royal Bank of Canada and merged with Dain Rauscher (RBC Dain), Ed and Amie formed a partnership (Baehrend Marks Partnership LLC), obtained their Principal Licenses (series 24), and joined Raymond James Financial Services as independent contractors. The lack of the requirement to sell proprietary products is what initially attracted them to Raymond James, and almost 20 years later, they still believe RJFS is a perfect fit for their business.
