CARE CENTER

CARE Center is the Tri-County's first Children's Advocacy Center (CAC), and Virginia's eighteenth CAC. The CAC is a board-governed 501(c)3 nonprofit founded on a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach to provide child victim-centered services to Virginia's children of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell counties. In 2018, CARE Center was incorporated, received nonprofit status, and was brought from vision to reality. Needing a location to house the tri-counties' first CAC, the task was set to find the right location to serve children. After viewing several proposed sites, CARE Center's Executive Director and Director of Operations met with and presented CARE Center as a mission outreach to one of Tazewell county's most respected churches. From that moment, everything quickly fell into place and an agreement was made. The church's weathering, unoccupied parsonage would officially become a center for serving abused children.
