6733 Murray River Road Burrowye 3709 Victoria Australia
Burrowye Station is located on the banks of the Murray River about an hour upstream from Albury. It has been owned and run by the Houston family since its purchase in 1919 by Jimmy Houston. He bought the property as a drought relief stop for his returning jersey bullock on the road from Bega. For over a century the family's core business has been cattle, with each generation having been a cattleman in their own right with an aptitude for business and improving the herd's genetics. Over the past few decades there has also been a focus on redeveloping bush blocks and old pine country into prime agricultural land with wildlife corridors to connect the surrounding National Parks and State Forests.
