Robert Young is the Managing Partner of The Jersey Company, which provides advisory services to the capital markets industry and is publisher of the Jersey Blue Book, the fund management industry's first buyer's guide to securities brokers. Robert also serves as an advisor to private equity and venture backed start-ups as well as to established companies looking to capitalize via transformation to the digital economy. Robert's career has spanned both the finance and technology sectors where he has built a strong reputation for leading transformative change in large and small companies. Most recently Robert spent a decade creating the global operations of institutional trading pioneer Liquidnet. Serving as global COO, he reshaped the startup to a scalable, multibillion-dollar global company which now serves over 40 markets. Robert was also directly responsible for establishing Liquidnet as the largest non-bank block firm in Canada. Robert's reputation for effectively navigating change was solidified during his tenure as VP Sales & Marketing for the TSX Group, through the company's IPO and its subsequent transformation from a members' club to diverse trading and technology services provider. Robert's extensive experience extends to both Canada and the US, having also held executive positions with industry icon Dow Jones & Co and marketplace pioneer OptiMark Technologies. Robert serves on the advisory boards of a leading US FinTech-focused advisory and investment firm and a US social capital marketplace. He splits his time between New York City and Toronto.
