Lana Teramae

Job Titles:
  • Content Writer Intern
Hello everyone! My name is Lana Teramae, I'm from Hawaii, and I graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in May 2021 with a major in Communication and a minor in Psychology. I got my love for writing from multiple things, but it all started during my second semester of college, when I became the secretary for the Disney Ohana Club. Sending email updates for my club made me appreciate the importance of communication through writing. During my senior year of college, I landed an internship with Ka Leo, the student newspaper for UH Manoa. Through that experience, I learned how to work with a team, make deadlines, transition between paragraphs, and how to grab an audience's attention. I was promoted to a staff writer position during my last semester of college. Shortly after graduation, I got an internship with Hawaii Business Magazine from June to August 2021. My favorite article that I did with them was about tattoos in the workplace. Because it's a sensitive topic, it was hard finding people to interview, but I enjoyed the challenge and hearing people's different viewpoints on the discussion. I enjoy listening to music, watching YouTube, and writing on my blog in my free time. For my internship with Topic Insights, I'm looking forward to developing my writing skills even further and making someone's day through my articles!
