Building on the momentum generated at the 2012 London Summit on Family Planning and Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) around the central importance of ensuring reproductive rights and contraceptive choice, the RESPOND Project (funded by the United States Agency for International Development [USAID], and managed by EngenderHealth) sponsored an expert consultation in September 2012 - A Fine Balance: Contraceptive Choice in the 21st Century - to deliberate on how to move contraceptive choice from rhetoric to reality. The Champions4Choice blog was born out of this consultation as a way to foster a growing network of champions and is intended as a forum the exchange of ideas, views, and resources to advance thinking about, and commitment to, contraceptive choice and rights.
