Adam Sykes

With over fifteen years experience in the auction industry, Adam joined the H&H team in the Summer of 2005. He has since worked in both the Automobilia and Motorcar departments. Adam has amassed a diverse collection of classic machinery including his prized pre-war Ford Model A saloon and a fire-breathing 1970s March Le Mans sports racing car. He enjoys spending his weekends driving in circles and has competed at the highest level of historic motorsport with drives in Formula 5000 and a Jaguar C-type. A skilled and knowledgeable sales consultant Adam has a key focus on providing excellent service.

Andreas Hicks

Andreas has been an avid petrolhead since he can remember, his first 'classic' memory is being sat in an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage at 11 years of age at a local car show. Since then, he has nurtured this passion and knowledge, working his way up to own some of his dream cars, including sports cars and classics. In his spare time, Andreas plays Ice Hockey with Swindon Rec Wildcats.

Colette McKay - Managing Director

As a qualified accounting technician, Colette joined H&H in 2012 and has been involved in all aspects of the business and industry. From a young age, her father has been taking her to car meets, race meetings and shows. As an adrenaline junkie, she can still be found at the same shows and race meetings but now with her own sons. The highlight of her almost ten years with H&H was being involved with the sale of Richard Colton's legacy including a Ferrari 250 GT & a Ferrari 275 GTB/4 to raise funds for the RNLI. "It was a pleasure to see the cars showcased and sold, realising funds for lifesaving boats and equipment". With a strong team of enthusiasts alongside her, Colette strives to ensure H&H delivers the best customer-focused service and client experience whether as a seller, a buyer or fellow enthusiast.

Damian Jones

Born in Hammersmith, Damian inherited a wide-ranging love of motorcars from his engineer-turned-barrister father. Joining Sotheby's just days after completing his finals (having spent the previous summer there as an intern), he remained part of the firm's Motorcar Department until its demise in 1999. Aside from a brief spell with BSkyB thereafter, Damian has spent his entire working career in the auction industry. Employed by Brooks (now Bonhams) and Cheffins before moving to H&H in 2005, he has been involved in the consignment and sale of such high profile lots as the ex-Woolf Barnato 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre Tourer ‘GU 1927', ex-Hon. Brian Lewis 1931 Talbot AV105 Fox & Nicholl Team Car ‘GO 54', ex-Graham Hill 1970 Lotus 72 F1 Single-Seater and ex-Richard Colton 1960 Ferrari 250GT SWB.

Ian Cunningham

Ian has recently joined our Motorcycle Department after a lifetime involved in motorcycles. He has run a successful dealership for many years, established by his parents in 1958, having held agencies for Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Moto Guzzi, Gilera, Vespa and Piaggio amongst others. Born into a motorcycling family he actually lived above the family's bike shop until he was 4 years old. Starting to ride as soon as possible, he has competed in bike sport events and worked as a mechanic for TT and Grand Prix race teams. Ian helped his Dad restore his collection of 50s British bikes and has his own growing collection of 60,70s and 80s classics ranging from a 1967 Suzuki T20 to a 1985 Suzuki GSXr750F. Ian is looking forward to using experience and passion for bikes in the auction world.

James McWilliam

Following in McWilliam Senior's footsteps, James has accumulated a fair amount of silverware himself aboard a Peugeot 205 GTi which he vows to one day restore (he has only owned it for eighteen years!) As one of H&H's longest serving specialists, he has a wealth of experience across all eras and has sold a number of high-profile cars including several WO Bentleys and Aston Martin DB5s. Not afraid to get his hands dirty, James has a knack for unearthing ‘barn finds' including a Jaguar E-Type 3.8 FHC which has become H&H's most viewed YouTube video and the muscular, body kitted Jaguar XJ12C that John Steed drove in the New Avengers TV show. A mentor to his less experienced colleagues, James has helped instill in them a similarly strong focus on customer service. Happy to speak to seller and buyer alike, he has an enviable array of industry contacts.

John Markey

After an early spell as a Metallurgist at the Fairey Aviation Company, John fulfilled his true desire to get into the automobile industry by joining a London and South East distributor handling Morris, Wolsey, Riley and MG cars. John started racing with more humble machines before getting his hands on a Mk XI Ford Cosworth in 1966. Having moved jobs to Fiat UK he then decided to try racing full time and competed in the World Sports Car Championship, with drives at Spa, Nurburgring, the Targa Florio and the 12 hours at Montjuich including drives in a Formula One ex-Rodriguez Cooper-Maserati. John joined BMW, continued to race in his spare time the moved into managing the Dealer BMW team which competed successfully against the factory teams. John raced through the 1970's in various cars from a 3 Litre Capri, Lagonda V12 and a ‘Low Drag' E-Type. In the late 1980's John joined up with Peter Colborne-Baber and they set up a restoration business covering all makes but with a particular leaning towards Jaguar building a number of C and D Type replicas to a very high standard. This culminated in them building the first affordable replica of the XJ13 which featured on the front cover of Classic and Sports Car and in The Sunday Times. John and Peter set up the classic car business Beacon Hill Garage in 2000 and built an enviable reputation for the quality of their work, high levels of customer service and the depth of knowledge they were able to impart. After almost 25 years together, John and Peter decided to pursue different interests and John has joined H&H in the Private Sales department. He is able to offer clients not just a rich racing pedigree (as a member of the BRDC), but a lifetime of experience in restoring classic cars and buying and selling cars on behalf of a number of significant collectors. John is based at our Hindhead premises. For some reason John chose this early and thoughtful photograph of himself!

Mike Davis

Mike is the core of our growing Motorcycle Department. Born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, his passion for vintage motorcycles and cars started at a young age, going down to his gramp's shed and getting his hands oily. Mike has his own collection of pre-WW2 motorcycles, mainly 1920s New Imperials built in Hall Green Birmingham. He has been found at numerous bike events throughout the years, and has won several concours awards most recently with his New Imperial. Mike has gained his knowledge for vintage and classic motorcycles through his passion over the years. After all, he was practically born on a bike! During his time with H&H, he has seen great success, achieving record-breaking results including the famed pre-production Honda CB750 prototype, auctioning for £161,000. Mike strives for excellent customer service and is an asset to the team.

Paul Cheetham

Having completed a four-year Business Management degree, Paul joined the H&H Classics team full-time in July 2020 (having been associated with H&H since 2018), following his lifelong classic car passion into the industry. A classic car enthusiast from as early as he can remember, Paul purchased an original Mini at the age of 16, running it as a first car for several years before beginning a full restoration on the Mini which is currently ongoing. Passionate about classics and motoring, Paul spends much of his spare time at events across the country. Originating from Derby, the remainder of his spare time is occupied by following Derby County at home and away games! Paul strives to ensure that excellent customer service is provided to all H&H customers and is knowledgeable about classics throughout the ages.

Paul Diamond

Paul is our specialist vintage scooter consultant. He has been collecting and riding scooters for over 40 years, buying his first scooter for £10 at the age of 16 and has since owned hundreds of Lambrettas, Vespas and other marques. Paul still attends numerous rallies each year and is well known throughout the UK and Europe. He is regularly called upon to judge at the most prestigious scooter concours d'elegance for the Vintage Motor Scooter Club, Spirit of 84, The Awfully Pleasant Scooter Association and the Brighton Mod Weekender to name just a few. As a genuine enthusiast, Paul is looking forward to helping you realise the best audience for the sale of your scooter and assist buyers with his expert eye for detail.
