Chelsea Muscat is the Development Coordinator for the Health Alliance supporting Mental Health Funding Reform.
Chelsea Muscat is the Coordinator of Mental Health Development for the Health Alliance, responsible for coordinating the development and maintenance of joint regional planning and commissioning for mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs in Brisbane North.
Over the past decade, Chelsea has gained qualifications and experience in many areas of preventative mental health practice, research and teaching. This includes, drug and alcohol system reform, refugee wellbeing, rural mental health, workplace mental health promotion, and First Nation mental health.
Chelsea is passionate about improving mental health for all. She strives to achieve this by engaging and bringing together all stakeholders, including those with a lived experience, to foster inclusive, strength-based mental health prevention and promotion across system, community and individual levels.
Ian Purcell is the General Manager of the Health Alliance between Metro North Health and Brisbane North PHN.
Ian has extensive experience across both public and private sector in policy development, program reform and change management in a range of health and social service settings to improve outcomes for consumers. He was formerly Health Integration Manager at Brisbane South PHN, where he identified and led initiatives to promote effective health service integration across primary care and the hospital and health service sectors.
Ian has a Bachelor in Health Science (Public Health), from Queensland University of Technology, Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management from Griffith University and a Masters in Public Policy and Management from Monash University.
Ian is looking forward to building on the achievements and ways of working developed by the Health Alliance and leading collaborative relationships to drive health system improvement and better health outcomes.
As the leads of both organisations, Jackie Hanson and Libby Dunstan oversee the work of the Alliance.
