Anna has a keen interest in resource and environmental law and is excited to apply her knowledge in this area alongside using her customer service and problem-solving skills to build positive relationships with clients.

Ben joined the Hetherington team in 2014 and is an Executive Consultant located in our Sydney Hetherington office. As a qualified scientist and soon to be lawyer, Ben has spent the last decade speciali sing in tenement management, mining law and environmental law. Working with some of the largest ASX listed and privately owned mining and exploration companies, across all jurisdictions of Australia, and internationally, including New Zealand and Canada. Ben has personally managed portfolios of over 350 tenements, and associated approvals. Ben specialises in approvals, compliance and permitting in the resources and development sectors, with key areas of expertise being: Permitting and approval acquisition Environmental management Independent due diligence Internal and external auditing Compliance management Native title advice Property and land management Ben has a proven track record and extensive experience in: Land, tenement, and approval management in the resources sector. Environmental and planning approvals including specialist and strategic advice spanning project inception, operation, and closure. Advice in relation to land access and compensation resolution, Native Title processes and procedures, Aboriginal and cultural heritage management, and compliance. Management of property and land tenure relating to resource projects including underlying rights and obligations, Crown tenures, private leases and agreements, and conflicting tenures. Project planning and advisory roles in the ongoing management and reduction of environmental liabilities associated with exploration and mining operations. He also managed environmental data acquisition and reporting in accordance with approval conditions.

BRIAN MARTIN

Brian is a Mining Title expert with 25 years experience in the exploration/mining industry. This includes 15 years as a mining title consultant, employed by Hetherington Exploration and Mining Title Services. Brian has been the Manager and Senior Consultant of the Hetherington Brisbane office for the last 10 years. From 1986-1992, Brian gained broad experience in the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI). For the last two years at DEEDI, Brian was based in Charters Towers as the District Tenures Officer. This included several stints as Acting Mining Registrar. Brian's eight years with DEEDI provided an in-depth knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures, as well as the Mineral Resources Act 1989 and associated legislation. Brian frequently finds that this knowledge is invaluable to his clients. Brian holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree through the University of New England and an Associate Diploma in Cartography from the Queensland University of Technology. These cartographic and environmental qualifications also add depth to the services provided by Hetherington. Brian has provided mining title and environmental consulting services to Hetherington's clients since 1992 and has an in depth knowledge of the current and previous mining title and environmental regimes in Queensland. In addition to various industry working groups, Brian is a member of the Exploration Committee of the Queensland Resource Council. Representation on these committees provides Hetherington's clients with the most up to date information on environmental issues affecting the mining industry.

Cheranne has worked in Mining for 6 years, managing tenure obligations in-house for some large WA mining companies. As well as ensuring tenement compliance, Cheranne has successfully provided advice on tenure retention, aligning tenement expenditure and business budgeting commitments, and has experience including Mining Act objections, new tenure applications, caveats and renewals. She is well versed in the Mining Act and Regulations and values efficiency, practicality, and strongly believes in the importance of fostering relationships.

David joined the Hetherington team in April 2010 and has been Company Principal of Hetherington Sydney since April 2016, and Company Principal of Hetherington Perth since April 2019. David graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Major), and Bachelor of Laws in 2008, where he studied Environmental Law and Native Title Law. David then went on to complete his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2009 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in December 2009. Prior to joining Hetherington, David worked in NSW Parliament in the Shadow Attorney General's Office and in a general practice private law firm as a Legal Clerk and Graduate Solicitor, dealing with a wide variety of matters and clientele. David is also a specialist practitioner in VALMIN Code 2015, ASIC and ASX compliant Independent Solicitor Reports, having assisted several companies in the private sector to submit Independent Solicitor Reports to the Australian, Canadian and Singaporean Stock Exchanges.

Ngaire has over 16 years' experience in tenement management, with extensive experience across all aspects of tenement management and compliance, across multiple jurisdictions in Australia, from applications for new tenure to statutory reporting, caveats, renewals and Native Title. She also has a variety of experience in stakeholder negotiations, Mining Act objections and proceedings in the Warden's Court. Ngaire has worked with a diverse range of tenement portfolios, both in-house and as a consultant, from junior explorers to mid-tier mining companies and is vigilant in providing expert advice to ensure all compliance requirements are met in all matters relating to mineral tenure. Ngaire believes that nurturing a strong collaborative relationship with clients to assist them in providing information and reports is essential for efficient tenement management.
