Aaron is a consultant located in our Sydney Office.
Aaron completed a Master of Law (Juris Doctor) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) in September 2022 and a Diploma of Law at The College of Law Australia in May 2023. Aaron is looking forward to being admitted as a solicitor by the middle of 2023.
Anna is a Senior Consultant located in our Perth Hetherington office.
Anna attended the University of Western Australia where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Business Law and Political Science and International Relations, as well as awaiting the completion of her Master of Resources and International Commercial Law.
Anna has a keen interest in resource and environmental law and is excited to apply her knowledge in this area alongside using her customer service and problem-solving skills to build positive relationships with clients.
Arley is a Senior Consultant located in our Sydney Hetherington office.
Arley is a soon to be admitted lawyer who has worked extensively in customer service and project management, as well as community engagement within a pro bono legal centre.
Arley completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie University majoring in Criminology.
Arley has a lateral mind and a keen interest in the environmental and natural resources sector and looks forward to using her skills and problem-solving abilities to assist clients.
Ben joined the Hetherington team in 2014 and is an Executive Consultant located in our Sydney Hetherington office.
As a qualified scientist and soon to be lawyer, Ben has spent the last decade speciali sing in tenement management, mining law and environmental law. Working with some of the largest ASX listed and privately owned mining and exploration companies, across all jurisdictions of Australia, and internationally, including New Zealand and Canada. Ben has personally managed portfolios of over 350 tenements, and associated approvals.

Advice in relation to land access and compensation resolution, Native Title processes and procedures, Aboriginal and cultural heritage management, and compliance.
Management of property and land tenure relating to resource projects including underlying rights and obligations, Crown tenures, private leases and agreements, and conflicting tenures.
Project planning and advisory roles in the ongoing management and reduction of environmental liabilities associated with exploration and mining operations.
Key projects Ben has worked on include:
Closure of multiple mines including historic tenure analysis, obligation review and consideration of legal obligations relating to former mining domains under historic and contemporary authorisations and relevant legislation.
Strategic advice in relation to the closure and relinquishment of authorisations.
Strategic advice in relation to the approvals and liabilities across historic authorisations and workings.
Ongoing management of tenures and strategic advice in relation to environmental obligations.

Prior to joining Hetherington, Ben was an Environmental Scientist with Stantec, an award-winning international North American and Asia Pacific engineering and environmental services firm. In this role, Ben managed field, laboratory and desktop assessment of environmental performance and compliance with environmental approvals across the resources, energy, and development sectors. He also managed environmental data acquisition and reporting in accordance with approval conditions.

Brian is a Mining Title expert with 25 years experience in the exploration/mining industry. This includes 15 years as a mining title consultant, employed by Hetherington Exploration and Mining Title Services. Brian has been the Manager and Senior Consultant of the Hetherington Brisbane office for the last 10 years.
From 1986-1992, Brian gained broad experience in the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI). For the last two years at DEEDI, Brian was based in Charters Towers as the District Tenures Officer. This included several stints as Acting Mining Registrar.
Brian's eight years with DEEDI provided an in-depth knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures, as well as the Mineral Resources Act 1989 and associated legislation. Brian frequently finds that this knowledge is invaluable to his clients.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree through the University of New England and an Associate Diploma in Cartography from the Queensland University of Technology. These cartographic and environmental qualifications also add depth to the services provided by Hetherington.
Brian has provided mining title and environmental consulting services to Hetherington's clients since 1992 and has an in depth knowledge of the current and previous mining title and environmental regimes in Queensland.
In addition to various industry working groups, Brian is a member of the Exploration Committee of the Queensland Resource Council. Representation on these committees provides Hetherington's clients with the most up to date information on environmental issues affecting the mining industry.
Cheranne is a consultant located in our Perth Hetherington office.
Cheranne has a diverse career background and has always worked in the compliance field. Cheranne has worked in Mining for 6 years, managing tenure obligations in-house for some large WA mining companies. As well as ensuring tenement compliance, Cheranne has successfully provided advice on tenure retention, aligning tenement expenditure and business budgeting commitments, and has experience including Mining Act objections, new tenure applications, caveats and renewals.
She is well versed in the Mining Act and Regulations and values efficiency, practicality, and strongly believes in the importance of fostering relationships.

David joined the Hetherington team in April 2010 and has been Company Principal of Hetherington Sydney since April 2016, and Company Principal of Hetherington Perth since April 2019.
David graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Major), and Bachelor of Laws in 2008, where he studied Environmental Law and Native Title Law. David then went on to complete his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2009 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in December 2009.
Prior to joining Hetherington, David worked in NSW Parliament in the Shadow Attorney General's Office and in a general practice private law firm as a Legal Clerk and Graduate Solicitor, dealing with a wide variety of matters and clientele.
David is also a specialist practitioner in VALMIN Code 2015, ASIC and ASX compliant Independent Solicitor Reports, having assisted several companies in the private sector to submit Independent Solicitor Reports to the Australian, Canadian and Singaporean Stock Exchanges.
Jemima is a consultant located in our Sydney office.
She attended the University of Notre Dame and attained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics). Jemima is presently completing her practical legal training and anticipates admission to the Supreme Court of NSW in late 2023.

Julia is a Assistant Manager/ Associate Solicitor located in our Perth Hetherington office.
Julia has completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University. Julia anticipates her admission to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in late 2023.
Prior to her commencement at Hetherington, Julia worked within the healthcare field and is now excited to pursue her interest in the mining industry.
Her background in addition to her studies have given her the skills to build positive relationships with clients, and to act to achieve their best outcome.
Kylie-Ann joined the Hetherington team in 2008 and became the office and accounts manager in 2011. She utilises her human resource qualifications to assist the team in achieving their best.
Kylie-Ann has trained in both MYOB and Xero as well as Asian studies. Her work history also includes a stint in Japan as a Relocation Coordinator in Nagoya.
Madelaine is a Consultant/ Solicitor in the Perth Hetherington office.
Madelaine is an admitted lawyer and joins Hetherington after working at a boutique law firm specialising in planning, environmental and administrative law. Prior to that, she worked as a Judge's Associate at the State Administrative Tribunal. Madelaine has a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia.
Madelaine has a keen interest in environmental and mining law and is excited to use her experience to assist clients with their compliance requirements and in Warden's Court proceedings.
Meghan is a Consultant and Solicitor based in our Sydney Hetherington office.
Meghan holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of New South Wales. Prior to joining Hetherington, Meghan acquired broad experience from her roles at several boutique law firms in Sydney, where she specialised primarily in commercial law and property law. Additionally, she gained broad exposure by working at a local commercial law firm in Hong Kong and in criminal court in Beijing while pursuing her LLB degree.
Meghan's proficiency in both Cantonese and Mandarin enhances her ability to serve clients with international interests.
Meghan is a dedicated legal professional with a diverse background. Her strong academic foundation, coupled with her broad experience in the legal field, equips her to provide exceptional support and service to our clients across various countries.
Ngaire is a Managing Consultant located in our Perth Hetherington office.
Ngaire has over 16 years' experience in tenement management, with extensive experience across all aspects of tenement management and compliance, across multiple jurisdictions in Australia, from applications for new tenure to statutory reporting, caveats, renewals and Native Title.
She also has a variety of experience in stakeholder negotiations, Mining Act objections and proceedings in the Warden's Court.
Ngaire has worked with a diverse range of tenement portfolios, both in-house and as a consultant, from junior explorers to mid-tier mining companies and is vigilant in providing expert advice to ensure all compliance requirements are met in all matters relating to mineral tenure. Ngaire believes that nurturing a strong collaborative relationship with clients to assist them in providing information and reports is essential for efficient tenement management. She takes her role very seriously and is very conscious of the responsibility to be accurate, efficient, and honest in everything she does.

Sarah is an Assistant Manager/ Associate Solicitor located in our Sydney Hetherington office.
Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology in 2021. Sarah then went on to complete her Post Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law in 2022 and is awaiting admission as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2023.
Before joining Hetherington, Sarah gained broad professional experience in the Land and Environment Court, co-founded a student-led consultancy run through the University of Wollongong and worked in customer service for a number of years. Sarah is dedicated, communicates effectively and has a strong work ethic.
In her role at Hetherington, Sarah is committed to providing her clients with timely expert advice to help them navigate the resource sector's complex legislative regime across multiple jurisdictions and achieve optimal resolutions.
Stacey joined the Hetherington (QLD) team in March 2010 as a Mineral Properties Consultant.
She has extensive experience in tenement compliance and is a qualified Justice of the Peace.
A diligent and committed worker, Stacey has applied her existing and acquired skills to efficiently manage Queensland tenures.
Tamara joined the Hetherington team in November 2016 is an Executive Managing Consultant located in our Sydney Hetherington office.
Tamara completed a Bachelor of Science (Geoscience Major) - Bachelor of Laws Honours at the University of Wollongong in 2015. Tamara went on to complete her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2016.
Before joining Hetherington, Tamara spent five years volunteering and working in legal practice. Tamara has previously worked for a boutique law firm specialising in environmental, local government and Land and Environment Court matters.
With over 15 years corporate law experience across top tier, mid-size and boutique law firms, Vivian is a Non-Executive Director at Hetherington, fulfilling a critical strategic advisory role.
An influential adviser, negotiator and communicator, Vivian specialises in litigation at both Federal and State levels, including the Federal Court, Supreme Court, District Court and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Over the course of her career, Vivian has advised and represented major corporations, Commonwealth departments, major insurers, self-insured licensees, and various government agencies.
Vivian also drives Hetherington's philanthropic agenda, focusing on the firm's corporate social responsibility program and driving national charity initiatives.
Yung is a Assistant Manager located in our Sydney Hetherington office.
Yung completed a Bachelor of Laws with a Major in Criminology at Macquarie University and is currently in the process of undertaking his Practical Legal Training.
Before joining Hetherington, Yung gained professional experience in various areas of legal practice, including criminal law, family law and civil litigation. Coupled with over 4 years of customer service experience, Yung is skilled at interpersonal communication and meeting the needs of clients.
With his extensive legal and advocacy skillset, Yung is equipped to assist clients in navigating the complex regulatory regime of mining legislation and environmental approvals in numerous jurisdictions and is dedicated to achieving the best possible results for his clients.
