J Larry Tyler

J Larry Tyler, FACHE, FHFMA, CMPE is the Founder and CEO of Practical Governance Group. Tyler spent the first part of his career as a healthcare executive search consultant where he conducted over 185 CEO searches and received a tremendous amount of experience in working with boards. With the publication of the book, Practical Governance from Health Administration Press, he began a sub-career in governance for hospitals and medical groups. With the sale of Tyler & Company in 2015, he moved to working primarily in the governance arena. J Larry Tyler active in governance both from writing, lecturing, and consulting. He has for 15 years taught the governance section of the American College of Healthcare Executives review course for the Board of Governor Exam. At the ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership, he has conducted the CEO Governance Roundtable for 15 years, and the Governance Forum for 6 years. He has written extensively on governance for Healthcare Executive and Frontiers magazine. He is a board member of the Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives and Bethesda Lutheran Communities where "practices what he preaches" regarding governance and board functioning. He was the Chairman of the Board of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants. Tyler also served as Regent for Georgia for the American College of Healthcare Executives

A company founded 18 years ago to meet the education and compliance needs of physicians and their staff. Jill has over 40 years of medical experience working in all areas of the medical practice including clinical, billing and rounding with physicians. Her unique style of working with physicians is not only effective but helps bridge the gap between coders and physicians from a practical perspective. Her comments and opinions can be seen in several publications and also heard on a variety of audio-conferences. Her background gives her a unique style of teaching using real life examples of coding and billing situations. Lori-Lynne Webb

Lori-Lynne Webb is an independent coding, compliance, and auditing specialist. She has 20+ years of multi-specialty coding experience and teaches coding, compliance and auditing skills for clinical and clerical staff, utilizing AMA and AHIMA based curriculum. Lori-Lynne is also an AHIMA ACE mentor In addition to performing physician based coding and auditing services for Physician Services, she is a contributing author & Audio presenter for many national coding resource. She is a speaker, educator, writer and presenter for many national publications and companies such as the, AAPC, AHIMA and IdHIMA. In addition to her educational and technical writing, she also contracts and performs independent audit and education services for private practice physicians and facilities.

Mark A. Smith

Mark A. Smith is a consultant with HG Healthcare Consultants, a healthcare consulting firm. He brings 25 years of clinical practice and hospital management experiences to his work with physicians and hospitals across the United States. Dr. Smith is a board-certified surgeon. He practices part time as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Vascular Surgery Section at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. He works as a Senior Consultant with Morrisey Associates Inc. He also is the Chief Medical Officer for Verisys Corporation. He had previously practiced General and Vascular Surgery in a private practice setting for 25 years. Dr. Smith's previous positions included president of the Medical Staff, chief of surgery, chairman of peer review committee, and medical director of cardiac surgery at Desert Regional Medical Center. Dr. Smith is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College. He received his general surgery residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center and had Cardiac and Vascular Surgery fellowships at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Ross A. Leo

Ross A. Leo has been in Information Systems for more than 35 years, and an Information Security professional for much of that time. He has worked internationally as a Systems Analyst/Engineer, and as a Security and Privacy Consultant. His past employers include IBM, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Rockwell International. A NASA contractor for 22 years, from 1998 to 2002 he was Director of Security Engineering and Chief Security Architect for Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center. From 2002 to 2006 Mr. Leo was the Director of Information Systems, and Chief Information Security Officer for the Managed Care Division of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Upon attaining his CISSP certification in 1997, Mr. Leo joined ISC2 (a professional role) as Chairman of the Curriculum Development Committee, and served in this role until 2004. During this time, he directed the team that formulated and produced what became and remains the standard curriculum used to train CISSP candidates worldwide. Mr. Leo is a Certified Instructor in CyberSecurity certification and has since trained and certified over 10,000 CISSP candidates since 1998, and nearly 4500 in HIPAA compliance certification since 2004
