The Consortium launched on January 1st, 2019 through a collaboration among the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine, Education, Public Health, and Nursing. The organization was established to develop and improve the delivery of school-based health care programs... Through engagement with the Baltimore community, we strive to provide innovative and compassionate solutions to improving healthcare access to the children of Baltimore... Through partnering with key representatives from Baltimore City, our team is involved in a citywide school-based vision care program and the first fully-integrated school-based health model. Along with benefiting the local community, our work serves as a model for other national efforts to improve access to healthcare and academic outcomes in school children, particularly in underserved communities.
