Aaliah joined the firm in 2020 as part of our Accounts Team, having recently graduated from Hull University.

Adam is a senior accounts and audit professional who joined the firm in 1993. Adam works across a broad range of business sectors and has particular expertise in the accounts of farming and medical partnerships.

Adrian is a hugely experienced Chartered Accountant who has specialised for more than 30 years in audit, accountancy and taxation of small and medium enterprises.
Adrian works with clients across a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing and agriculture, but he has particular expertise in leisure and hospitality. He has successfully managed accounts for pubs, restaurants and hotels.
He also retains a portfolio of high net-worth clients, including several trusts, to whom he offers advice on all aspects of taxation. Adrian is also licenced to undertake non-contentious probate work.
Adrian has specialist expertise in several key areas in which Sowerby are renowned. He is widely acknowledged as an expert tax adviser to both Merchant Seamen and Foster Carers.
Adrian is a Hull University graduate and began his accountancy career with Hodgson Harris, now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers, before joining the firm in 1992 and his subsequent appointment as partner in 1997.
Outside of work, Adrian is a keen photographer and holds a season ticket for Hull FC.

Andrea is a specialist taxation expert with over 30 years experience in private practice. She is a Member of the Chartered of Taxation and has also passed the Association of Accounting Technicians & Association of Tax Technician exams.
Andrea deals with all aspects of personal taxation at the Goole office, which consists of capital gains tax, partnership tax, property tax and trusts. As well as completing Tax Returns and advising clients on their respective tax positions, she also advises and deals with any tax credits, student finance and grant forms in addition to reviewing small sole trader and partnership accounts and seeing clients thereon.
Andrea is experienced in dealing with the day to day management of the office and is able to assist with client queries that may arise efficiently and confidently.

Andrew is a Chartered Tax Advisor and a fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians. He has worked for the practice since leaving school and became a partner in 2014.
Andrew is an all-rounder and brings a wealth of experience having been in general practice for 40 years. He advises on all issues of accountancy and taxation, from small tax returns to larger owner managed businesses.
Andrew's specialism is in taxation, as he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Outside of work, Andrew is a keen football supporter and is a Hull City season ticket holder.
Angela is the Bookkeeping Manager within our Payroll & Bookkeeping team and has been with the firm since 1998. Her key areas of expertise are the processing of sales and purchase ledgers, payments and receipts, bank reconciliations, and VAT. She also manages the necessary submissions relating to CIS. Angela works directly with our clients across a broad range of businesses and industry sectors, often working at client premises to carry out their bookkeeping on site.
Annabelle joined the firm in 2022 as part of our Accounts Team, having recently graduated from Hull University.

Anne is a member of our support services team and joined the firm in 2021. Her role combines secretarial support to the partners, together with that of receptionist and answering incoming calls and enquiries.
Cole joined the firm in 2022 as part of our Accounts Team, having recently graduated from Hull University.
Elizabeth qualified as an English teacher in 2009 but by the summer of 2011 decided her professional interests were more focused towards the accounting arena and she joined BDO in 2011. Elizabeth qualified in 2014 and joined Sowerby FRS in 2015 to move away from the predominately corporate work offered by larger firms.
Elizabeth became a partner in April 2019.

Ellie is fully qualified accountant who joined the firm in 2022. She is involved in the preparation of accounts for a wide variety of clients.
Emily joined the firm in 2021 as part of our Accounts Team and is currently studying for her ACCA qualification.

Garry is an experienced accountancy professional who joined the firm in 2003. Garry has expertise in each of our key service areas for business including preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies, management accounting, personal and corporation tax and company audits. Garry is a part qualified accountant who is committed to his professional development.

Gayle is an experienced accountant who joined the firm in 2021 and spends the majority of her time preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies.
Ian joined the firm as Practice Manager after many years working in the banking industry. He has a wealth of business experience gained from working in a variety of roles and locations. As Practice Manager, he has day to day responsibility for the smooth running of the firm's offices.
Jamie joined our support services team in 2014 having recently obtained qualifications in both Law and Business & Administration. Jamie works to support all members of our accountants and advisory team and assist in client communications.

John joined the firm in 2018 as a semi - senior accountant and provides services in key areas for clients, including accounts preparation for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders. He also works on management information, corporation tax and VAT.
John is currently studying towards his final ACCA exams.
John joined Sowerby 53 years ago, back when the firm was known as Sowerby and Rushforth. The position he took was his first full-time job and he hasn't left the practice!
John's work is specialised to assist GP practices, Barristers and Agriculture/Horticulture sectors, but he also has a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses.
He has achieved his FCA qualification and has over five decades experience.
Julie is a member of our support services team and joined the firm in 2022.
Julie joined in 2017 and has 15 years payroll experience, running payroll for various sized businesses from sole traders to limited companies. Julie has some bookkeeping and accounts experience including VAT returns and preparing accounts.

Katy is an experienced Accountant who joined the firm in 2021. She looks after a portfolio of clients covering a range of sectors and also specialises in corporate finance work where she offers both lead advisory and transaction services support to businesses and management teams.
Liam joined the firm in 2020. He assists the Tax Manager and Partners with the preparation of tax returns.
