Job Titles:
  • Youth Band Secretary and Tutor
Lauren started in Kinneil Band when she was just turning seven and has been there ever since. She knows from personal experience what it takes to make the jump from the junior band to the senior band and progressing through the ranks from third cornet up to solo cornet, where she now sits. Her experiences within the banding world consist of guesting with other scottish bands including the Scottish Co-op, Lochgelly and Selkirk bands. She was recently invited as the guest soloist at a concert with the Peebles Band - this was a new experience for her and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She is also a member of the mighty Tartan Brass which is a scratch band made up with players from all over Scotland. They compete in the famous Whit Friday marches. She also takes part in solo contests wherever possible. Lauren recently auditioned for a Fame Academy Bursary with the BBC in London and was awarded a cash sum with which she purchased a new cornet and she is seeking professional tutition as well.
