Mr Colman Byrnes is a substantive General and Colorectal Surgeon, based in Antrim Area Hospital. He was appointed as a full-time consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Antrim Area Hospital some 16 years ago, in July 2007. Mr Byrnes maintains interests in Colonoscopy (including Bowel Screening), Surgical management of Colorectal Disease, including Cancer and Inflammatory Bowel disease, Gallbladder surgery, Hernias, and Day surgery.
Mr Byrnes' undergraduate medical training was in Queen's University Belfast where he obtained his Primary Medical Degree in 1993 in addition to a BSc in Physiology. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1997.
Postgraduate surgical training was undertaken primarily throughout Northern Ireland, with an additional fellowship in laparoscopic (Keyhole) surgery in Dublin.
A period of surgical research in the Johns Hopkins University Baltimore USA, led to an MD qualification by Thesis and a significant Prize from the Wound Healing Society.

Caoimhe was appointed as a senior clinical fellow in Paediatric Allergy at the Bristol Royal Childrens Hospital following a national recruitment process. In this role, Caoimhe worked as senior doctor within the tertiary paediatric allergy team overseeing the most complex allergicconditions. Caoimhe has unique experience in managing patients on oral immunotherapy, including grass, tree, house dust mite and food oral immunotherapy.
Caoimhe worked as a consultant in the paediatric allergy team at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, before taking up a Paediatric Consultant post with a specialist interest in Allergy in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.
Caoimhe is a Consultant in Paediatric Medicine with a specialist interest in Allergic Diseases. Caoimhe obtained her medical degree (BMBS) and a degree in Biomedical Sciences (BMedSci) at the University of Nottingham. Caoimhe completed her specialist training in paediatrics in NI and was the first paediatrician in NI to complete specialist interest training in allergy through the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).

Dr Stewart is an obstetrician & gynaecologist working since 2008 in the Northern Health & Social Care Trust. Dr Stewart has extensive experience and has completed the Scottish Fellowship in patient safety, as well as spending some time in the Institute of Health improvement in Boston USA. She completed a medical doctorate in the University of Glasgow. She is a member of the British Menopause Society London as well as a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists London. Dr Stewart carries full admission rights to Kingsbridge North-West & Belfast. Along side her NHS role, she has worked in the Private Sector since 2008.

Mr Skelly is a Consultant General and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon in the Western Trust, based at Altnagelvin Area Hospital. He gained subspecialty fellowship training in Dublin focusing on breast cancer management and combined oncoplastic breast surgery procedures, including breast implant, pedicled flap reconstruction and revisional breast surgery for breast cancer and benign breast disease. Mr Skelly has a broad range of experience from general surgery and breast surgery having worked in multiple tertiary referral units in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Republic of Ireland. He specialises in the treatment of breast cancer and general surgery patients with a keen interest in oncoplastic breast surgery for cancer patients. Mr Skelly also has a special interest in the assessment of hernias with extensive experience of hernia repair surgery. He currently holds the position of Postgraduate Surgical Tutor (Western HSCT) and Undergraduate Medical School Tutor (QUB & Ulster University).
