Jane Yang is a principal software engineer who specialises in the design, development, testing and deployment of modern software services including web services, APIs and distributed computing systems. Driven by her experiences when studying Computer Science at university where she was one of only a handful of female students, Jane is passionate about improving diversity in computer science and encouraging more women to embark upon careers in software engineering and data science. Jane has deep expertise of designing and developing high-performance, resilient, test-driven and user-centered software services, and scalable and secure APIs, supporting a wide variety of systems including e-commerce websites, audio recognition and semantic data integration. Jane is also an active contributor to open-source software projects and advocates for the design and development of interoperable, extensible, vendor-agnostic and open-by-default software services. In addition to her software engineering expertise, Jane is also a keen graphic designer and content developer covering both technical and non-technical subject matters.

Jillur Quddus is a chief data scientist, principal polyglot software engineer and published author who specialises in the mathematical & technical design and engineering of innovative, scalable, low-latency, high-performance, ethical and secure artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Jillur is also the founder of HyperLearning AI which he started with the aim of ensuring that AI delivers real and positive social impact, as well as improving accessibility and diversity in the fields of applied mathematics, scientific computing and artificial intelligence. Jillur has deep expertise in applying artificial intelligence to disease modelling, digital healthcare, and combatting serious organised crime, cyber-enabled crime, financial crime and fraud. Furthermore, he has significant and award-winning experience designing and engineering bespoke deep neural architectures embedded within smart devices via low-latency real-time neural interfaces applied to a range of exciting and innovative use cases including smart cities, predictive maintenance and asset failure. Jillur has extensive experience of working within central and local government, healthcare, intelligence and law enforcement, and has worked extensively across the world including in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Michelle Ricketts leads the development, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of digital training services at HyperLearning AI, in addition to developing and managing our training-related partnerships and community-focused outreach and engagement programmes. Michelle is passionate about delivering on our mission to help remove social and economic barriers for those seeking to embark upon careers in technology. With over a decade of experience in the Civil Service, coupled with a degree in Computer Science and experience as a programmer in the pharmaceutical industry at GlaxoSmithKline, Michelle has deep expertise in providing employment and skills advisory services, engaging with local communities and young people through outreach programmes, and delivering high quality training. Driven by her experiences, Michelle is determined to improve accessibility, diversity and equality in the technology sector, particularly in data science, artificial intelligence and software engineering.
