Adele Hinton

Job Titles:
  • Administration Specialist
Adele joined Loddon Training in March 2005. As Administration Specialist she provides administration and co-ordination support for internal and external courses and trainers and also supports new and existing customers. Adele ensures all recording and despatching of candidate's records and certificates are completed and correct after each course.

Ana Rebelo

Job Titles:
  • RRN Lead and Specialist Trainer
Prior to working Loddon Training Ana was a Learning and Care Support Assistant at Loddon School. This introduced her to the person-centred approach referred to in PROACT-SCIPr-UK®. Ana has a Masters degree in Health and Clinical Psychology and is currently completing her Level 3 in Education and Training. She also has a keen interest in mental health and is broadening her knowledge on this.

Bruce Noble

Job Titles:
  • Business and Contracts Manager
Bruce is responsible for promoting the continued growth and development of Loddon Training through the acquisition of new customers, sales, and contracts. He is the ‘go to person' when it comes to the negotiation of contracts and license agreements, the monitoring of their implementation, the protection of the intellectual property and trademarks. 

Danielle Jewers

Job Titles:
  • Senior HR Advisor Assoc
I am one of the Senior HR Advisors at the Foundation and have worked at the school for over 6 years. My background to Loddon was working for a large charity where my role specialised in Recruitment and general HR. At the school, my main focus is employee relations, employee engagement, overseeing the Recruitment and Selection process and managing payroll. I am Safer Recruitment trained and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Human Resource Practice and a Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management. I thoroughly enjoy the variety within my role, and I have been able to development my own knowledge and understanding of not only HR but of the specialist work that goes on here since joining.

Dr Robert Lycett

Job Titles:

Bob spent the majority of his career working for a major defence contractor, initially using his expertise as a corrosion specialist as a research scientist working on corrosion fatigue and hydrogen embrittlement of steel. After a period working on aspects of Ministry of Defence policy Bob became involved in project and programme management and especially risk management. Latterly Bob focussed on corporate governance and on managing the interface between the defence contractor and the Ministry of Defence. Bob's hobbies include reading, music, and walking his Red Setter. He has also indulged his passion for history by completing a degree with the Open University. He also enjoys playing golf (rather badly) and is the welfare officer at his local golf club and treasurer for one of the club's sections. He has considerable experience with children's education having served as a governor at a local school for over nine years until the end of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Elizabeth Fairhead - CFO, Secretary

I am Head of Finance and Company secretary for the Loddon School. I have now worked at the school for 8 years and started as a finance assistant. As a qualified chartered management accountant, I have a breadth of experience of working within finance with my previous roles in Legal accounting and banking.

Elizabeth Penman

Job Titles:
  • Head of Therapies
My interest in SEN started as a 15-year-old in a school work placement, though curiously I spend several unrewarding years in banking. However, over the last 25 years I have followed a growing passion to help those with learning difficulties and autism, using a variety of therapy-based supports. Many of those years have been spent in the Loddon community, working as a teaching assistant, a non-qualified teacher and as head of a skilled and enthusiastic Therapy team. Flexible, creative, and open to new ideas I am committed to the provision of therapy interventions to meet the needs of each of our young people.

Graham Day

Graham worked in the defence industry all his career, starting in Plymouth before spending the majority of his career locally. Graham's area of expertise was in complex infrastructure, managing large project portfolios, facilities, and latterly managed the infrastructure programme office together with a high hazard facility safety review.

Helen Wood

Job Titles:

I am a Teacher, Assessor and Quality Assurer. I gained Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status in 2012 and the Advanced Teacher Status in early 2020. I have recently completed my International Master of Business Administration, am a Fellow member of the Chartered Management Institute and hold Chartered Teacher Status. With a background in Psychology, I have a particular interest in understanding the learners experience and getting it right for each individual. I am a passionate advocate for teaching and learning in the post-compulsory sector and believe that learning never stops, given the right support and encouragement.

Janet Bromley

Job Titles:

Janet has more than 25 years' experience in the field of Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour. Janet is a qualified Social Worker and holds a master's degree in Training and Development and has worked with both adults and children.  Janet joined Loddon School in 1989 and is now Director of Loddon Training and a Principal Instructor.  Janet is responsible for both the strategic development and delivery of staff training to promote the Loddon Approach under the brand of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training.  Janet's role is key to the ongoing development of the charity's work and its influence of practice. Janet has a keen interest in course development.

Joanna Emerson

Job Titles:
  • Assistant Principal Education
I have background in mainstream and special needs teaching and residential care experience, with over 20 years spent in the field of autism. Since I joined the Loddon school, I have worked within the care team, as a teacher, as a head of department, before becoming a member of the senior leadership team. I facilitate and monitor the pupil's curriculum and progress and support the staff to deliver a high-quality provision for the pupils. Within the role of SENCO and Designated Teacher, I coordinate the pupil's reviews of progress, Looked after Children reviews and Annuals, as well as the PEPs. I am a part of the safeguarding team and deliver training related to this as well as education and learning training.

Jorge Garcia

I am from Spain and came to the Loddon School in 1995. I began my journey as a Domestic Assistant and continued my path as a learning and Care Support Assistant, Team Coordinator, Children's Services Manager, Deputy Head of Care, to now, Assistant Principal. I was lucky to complete all of my qualifications here at Loddon, including my Registered Manager's Award. My main role is to assess children that may need the support and care that Loddon provides and then support and co-ordinate their admission into the school. I also support our young adults with their transitions into their adult home.

Joy Wake

Job Titles:
  • Social Worker
Joy trained as a social worker specialising in the field of learning difficulties, working with both children and adults. She was part of a team of people who opened a purpose built home for 24 young adults, many of whom had spent many years in long stay psychiatric hospitals and were experiencing life in a community for the first time. Joy worked for The Loddon Foundation from 1990 until her retirement in 2017. She worked in both the Education and Internal Training teams before becoming the Registered Manager for the seven Children's Homes and Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Foundation in early 2003. Joy is passionate about the care of children, believing they deserve the very highest standard of care and to be offered as many different opportunities as possible to fulfil their full potential and to enhance the quality of their lives.

Kelly Simpson

I have worked at Loddon School for twelve years. I began my career straight from sixth form college working as a Teaching Assistant. The school provided me with opportunities for continuing my professional development and I progressed by career into a Team Coordinator Role and thereafter as a Children's Service Manager, also taking on the additional role of a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. In May 2020, I became an Assistant Principal - Care. Over the past twelve years I have achieved several qualifications relating to each of my roles. I'm passionate about providing the highest quality care and education to our young people and high quality support to their families. I always strive for excellence.

Lea Garcia

  • Head of Behaviour Analysis and Support
I am the manager of the Department of Behaviour Analysis and Support (DBAS) at the Loddon School. I have worked within the school since 2013. My goal is to enrich the children lives through the work that my team and I provide, through focusing on understanding and analysis the children's behaviours. I grew up in Canada originally from France, I have a passion for travelling and discovering new cultures. I studied my psychology degree in Paris before moving to England. I am currently completing my masters' degree in psychology specialising in children with learning disabilities.

Lee Jackson

Lee joined Loddon Training as a Specialist Trainer in May 2022. Before this he was an Operations Manager within a day service providing education and skills training to autistic adults, underpinned by Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support. During this time, he was responsible for supporting the continued implementation of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® and staff training alongside the assessment and admission process of prospective service users. Lee has an interest in creative & performing arts and worked in mainstream education before moving into Adult Health and Social Care more than 12 years ago. He also enjoys gardening, walks in nature and extreme sports.

Maciej Okolowicz

I have been working for Loddon School for nearly 13 years. Throughout my time at Loddon, I have learned and develop as a professional and on personal level. Supporting our young people can be very challenging but seeing them thrive, develop, and achieve is the most rewarding and enjoyable experience I have had in my whole professional career. I believe "Every Child Matters" and it is our responsibility to ensure that all children get the support they need to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy, and achieve, and make a positive contribution to our society.

Marion Cornick - Founder

Marion founded Loddon School in 1988. Marion has worked in special care and education her whole life, including head teacher of three special schools. She has also been director of a large facility offering special care and education. The programmes Marion has developed at the Loddon School are positive, delivered in a supportive and therapeutic environment. From these, she created PROACT-SCIPr-UK®, which is a proactive approach to care that focuses on the whole person, not just their behaviours. More than 700 instructors now teach this programme in schools, care settings, hospitals and community homes all over the British Isles. Marion founded Loddon School in 1988. She has been involved in special education all her teaching life and previously held the headship of three special schools and a directorship of a large facility offering special care and education. Marion also developed PROACT-SCIPr-UK® which is based on a philosophy that places an emphasis on a proactive approach to supporting individuals through times of behavioural crisis in a sensitive and caring manner so that the needs of the whole person are met. Marion has written extensively and lectures both in the UK and internationally.

Mike Lakin

Prior to his retirement, Mike's career was in Information Technology as a technical specialist working for a variety of large/corporate companies. His more recent roles were as an IT Manager within financial applications and database technologies for a corporate software company based in Reading. Mike is an active member of Basingstoke Deane Rotary and through that organisation is involved in a variety of local fundraising, volunteering and charity support activities.

Nicky Smith

Nicky has worked for Loddon Training for the past 22 years developing and managing the administration process. During this time, she has been involved in the growth of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® seeing the number of trained Instructors grow dramatically both nationally and internationally. Nicky has a keen interest in promoting the customer service and communications aspects of our work.

Paul White

Job Titles:

Paul first learned about person-centred care as a Children's Services Manager at Loddon School following a 33 year career in the military. Working with children and young adults who have exceptional support needs and additional complications associated with autism and epilepsy gave Paul experience of how to promote each individual's wellbeing through teaching the most useful skills for daily living. As a Specialist Instructor Paul have drawn upon his varied experiences of working at Loddon School, volunteering with the Samaritans and through training with The Centre for Adolescent Rehabilitation to understand the functions of behaviour. This has enabled Paul to deliver positive behaviour support through proactive approaches and therefore reducing the need for restrictive interventions.

Richard Avis

Richard has had a career in electronics, marketing, management and business. He spent 30 years in a global corporation, ending in senior management, before leaving to start his own business. He has been and continues to be, on the board of several local businesses in the fields of digital marketing, local radio and property. Richard is married with four grown-up sons and eight grandchildren, one of whom is a very happy, autistic granddaughter.

Sam Corbett

Sam is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and is currently employed as the Senior PBS Clinician in a social enterprise who provide specialist support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism in their own homes. Prior to this Sam has worked as a behaviour analyst for two large social care providers and began her career as a support worker working with children with disabilities. These roles have involved using Behaviour Analysis within the framework of Positive Behaviour Support. Sam has presented at local and national events on a number of topics often with a focus on understanding the importance of rapport and approaches to build rapport. Sam is involved with local and national PBS forums.

Sarah Jeffrey

I have worked for The Loddon School since 2013 and I am an experienced HR professional with over twenty years working in various HR roles across the public and private sector. I am a member of the Charity Leadership Team supporting the school and the wider charity. As an active member of the NASS (National Association of Special Schools) HR and Finance group, I work with peers across the sector to refine best practice in HR whilst working regularly on projects where the sector has common interests.

Sharon Swanson

Sharon spent many years working at a local Primary school as their SEN one to one support. She has completed numerous training events surrounding SEN management techniques. Her youngest son attended The Loddon School from the age of 11 until his 19 birthday. Now retired and along with helping to settle her youngest son into his adult placement, she remains committed to maintaining her knowledge of Autism and learning disabilities and the surrounding pit falls that parents meet along the way.

Steve Fussey - Chairman

Steve qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and prior to retirement spent the last 32 years of his career working in various roles for a large Defence Contractor, managing sites and facilities and culminating in a position on the board of Directors as the Infrastructure Director. Steve has also previously been a Director of a local radio station, a local newspaper and a trustee director of a large pension fund . He is also currently the Vice Chair of Governors for Basingstoke College of Technology.

Tim Clark

I have over 20 years' experience working with children and young adults with autism, severe learning difficulties and complex needs in residential social care. Since joining Loddon School, I have held several roles from residential support worker to Further Education coordinator. My current role means I am responsible overall for the leadership and management of the care and safeguarding the children receive. I believe emphatically that all children have characters and skills that should be celebrated. My colleagues say I am hard-working and have passion for delivering the best possible standards of care and education.
