Daniel A. Wasserman

Daniel A. Wasserman is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine at the Broward Spine Institute (BSI). He helps complete BSI's comprehensive approach by providing many forms of Alternative/Complimentary medicine: Being a fourth generation educator, teaching is in Dr. Wasserman's blood. He has taught courses at local Chinese programs including the Chinese Medicine Institute and the Southeast Institute of Oriental Medicine. His reputation for teaching has steadily grown as manifested in numerous speaking engagements at universities including University of Miami School of medicine, Florida International University School of Nursing, and Barry University School of Podiatry. For many years, he has provided continuing education for his profession. He is now focused on designing practical protocols for Integrative Chinese Medicine, which synergizes various modalities that fall under his scope of practice. He maintains a busy private practice in Hollywood where he practices Integrative Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Vania E. Fernandez

Dr. Vania E. Fernandez is a highly distinguished Medical Doctor, Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Board Certified, Fellowship Trained in Interventional Pain Management under the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Fernandez received her training at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital. For nearly 20 years, Dr. Fernandez has committed her career to best serving patients utilizing a multimodal approach. She brings valuable knowledge and experience in performing interventional office-based procedures to decrease pain and improve her patients' quality of life. She teaches her patients about their conditions using images, bone models and diagrams. She works alongside a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals at Broward Spine Institute who provide a full range of treatments for patients suffering from acute and/or chronic pain. She treats pain originating from every area of the body. Her goal is to relieve, reduce or manage pain and improve a patient's overall quality of life through minimally invasive techniques specifically designed to diagnose and treat painful conditions. She also strives to help patients return to their activities of daily living without heavy reliance on medications. Prior to working at the Comprehensive Pain Management Center at Broward Spine Institute, Dr. Fernandez served as Faculty at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine where she was involved in Research, Teaching and Clinical Care. She has published numerous articles and written several book chapters. She has had affiliations with The University of Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, The Sylvester Cancer Research Center, The University of Miami Outpatient Pain Management Center and the Miami VA Medical Center. Dr. Fernandez is a Founding Faculty Member of the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine where she lectures graduating medical students as part of the Capstone program each year. Dr. Fernandez remains abreast of the lastest developments in her field as a member of local, state, and national professional societies. Specifically, she participates in the American Society of Anesthesiology, Florida Society of Anesthesiology and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. Additionally, she is on the Board of the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. She contributes to physician education as the Chair of the Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida in conjunction with the Palm Beach Medical Society. She is a graduate of this program and the statewide FMA Physician Leadership Academy. Dr. Fernandez is a patient advocate who works to preserve the physician-patient relationship as a member of the Legislative Committee for the Florida Medical Association. She is the current President of the Broward County Medical Association, where she also serves on the Board of Trustees. She is a member of the Dade County Medical Association. Dr. Fernandez is an expert lecturer in her field. She has been interviewed by local television stations, radio and newspapers on current topics in medicine. She is involved with the community. She helped organize the 2020 Out of the Darkness Walk for suicide prevention, served on the Medical Committee and as a Team Captain. She takes great pride in having lived in South Florida her entire life. She loves outdoor sports such as skiing, biking and paddle boarding. She participates in cross training and hot yoga. She loves auto racing, boating and target shooting.
