Alyssa started working at Jackson Animal Clinic in 2020. She has always had animals and wanted to work with them. She resides in Jackson County with her family and four fur babies; Luna, Patsy, Craig, and Mr. B. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.

Brooklyn McKimmie

Job Titles:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician
Brooklyn has been with Jackson Animal Clinic since May 2017. She graduated from Carver Career Center with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her and her husband have 4 fur babies; a German Shepherd named Onyx, a Terrier mix named Cricket, a cat named Sage, and a ball python named Kiwi. In her spare time she loves spending time outdoors with fishing, hunting, or kayaking.

Jennifer Shabdue

Job Titles:
  • Receptionist
Jennifer has been working at Jackson Animal Clinic since 2009. She graduated from Carver Career Center with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been the receptionist since 2014. She is currently living in Liberty with her menagerie of pets: dogs (Lucian, Mags, Dugan, Charlie, Macey, Boots, Zander, Heelix, Howie, Boss, and Hoggs) cats (Zahara, Danara, Piranha, Tryon, John, Paul, George, Ringo, Oreo, and Goliath), a herd of mini Dexter cattle (Buttercup, S'mores, Peanut, Marshmallow, Cupcake, and MoonPie), a pony (Sophia), goats, some chickens, ducks, and a rabbit (Coachella). In her spare time she likes to read, hike, and spend time on her farm.

Jessica Akers

Jessica has been with Jackson Animal Clinic since 2013. She has always loved animals and has wanted to work with them as a career since she was younger. Jess resides in Jackson county with her three daughters and her dogs and cats. She enjoys singing and spending time with her family.

Nicole Blankenship

Dr. Blankenship, a native of Ripley, graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2021. Prior to graduation, Dr. Blankenship had been a seasonal employee at Jackson Animal Clinic since 2015. After graduation, she transitioned to the role of Associate Veterinarian. She enjoys all aspects of a small animal practitioner, especially preventative care. She has had horses since the age of three and has interest in equine preventative care and performance horses. Dr. Blankenship resides in Jackson County with her 2 Australian Cattle Dogs, Josie and Willow.

Rebecca Hancock

Dr. Hancock, a native of Ravenswood, graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. After working in equine and mixed animal practices, she purchased Jackson Animal Clinic in 2017. In her Spare time she enjoys raising American Quarter Horses, boating, and gardening.

Sarah Burgess

Sarah grew up on a farm in Wood County. She attended Fairmont State University and received her degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been working at Jackson Animal Clinic since 2006. She resides in Wood county with her family and dogs (Mavis, Jib, and Rut) and her pet pig (Cardi P). When she's not working she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends, and family, gardening, organizing, and Pinteresting.

Sarah Dunaway

Dr. Dunaway, a WV native, graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Soon after, she began working at Jackson Animal Clinic as an associate veterinarian bringing a passion for small animal surgery as well as exotic medicine and surgery. Currently, her herd consists of her fiance, one white shepherd mixed breed dog, and two cats. In her spare time, she loves to trout fish, hunt with her father, kayak, and adrenaline seek at rollercoaster parks.
