SCHOOL OF GEOGRAPHIC SCIENCES

Department of Geography, the predecessor of the School of Geographic Sciences in East China Normal University, was founded in 1951, as the first newly-established geography department since the beginning of P.R. China. In March 2014, the Faculty of Earth Sciences was established in East China Normal University. It includes School of Geographic Sciences, School of Urban & Regional Science, School of Ecological and Environmental Science, and Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Research, Key Laboratory of Geographic Information Science(Ministry of Education),Center for Modern Chinese City Studies(Key Research Bases for Humanities and Social Science, Ministry of Education),and several provincial and ministerial-level sciences labs and research centers.
