Anastasia Williams

Anastasia has over 5 years' experience in the tax investment space. Having previously worked within the team at a historical film scheme promoter, Anastasia has an understanding of the tax positions many Newport clients find themselves in, as well as the litigation process. At Newport, Anastasia works closely with the Client Services team in liaising with new and current clients, focusing on group redress claims, and helping claimants through the sign-up process. In her free time, Anastasia enjoys reading, researching a variety of topics, exploring the countryside whenever she can, and trying new recipes.

Gerard Frew

Gerard is a highly experienced chartered adviser who holds qualifications in three separate countries. His accreditations include the QFA designation in Ireland, recognised by the Central Bank of Ireland. He concurrently holds the prestigious Chartered financial planner designation in the UK, a market where he has over 20 years of experience dealing with resident individuals, as well as a Diploma in Financial Planning in Australia. Throughout his career Gerard has worked for some of the world's largest institutions and has advised senior executives, companies and fellow professionals in all manner of financial planning aspects. He is a specialist in pensions, investments and estate planning advice, having a wealth of knowledge on each of these verticals. At Newport, Gerard's focus is on the international clients, helping them to claim against the agents and institutions behind their offshore investment structure. For Newport's international clients, Gerard is a lifeline back to financial stability.

India Wood

Having only recently graduated from the University of Leeds, India provides general assistance to the team at Newport. She works particularly closely with Client Services and the International Claims group, providing essential support. India has also taken on the role of increasing Newport's social media presence. She is working to create a continuous and current online relationship between Newport and its clients. India is a keen baker and in her spare time enjoys keeping fit and playing sports.

Jack Porter

Job Titles:

Jack has recently graduated college and begun training at Newport. Primarily Jack is focused on research for the Newport litigation fund, assisting Newport Capital Partners with analysis of potential investment opportunities. Jack lives in London and enjoys watching and playing football in his spare time. He is also a keen skier, visiting many resorts all over Europe.

Nick Wood

Involved in financial services since 1984, Nick Wood has covered a wide range of roles. Initially focusing on client advisory and wealth management services extending to private equity, property transactions and tax structuring for a wide range of clients, both in the UK and internationally. He has run several companies in various business sectors. He is one of the founders of Newport Capital Partners Ltd (NCP) and Newport Tax Management LLP (NTM) which were established in 2012. Nick has a deep understanding of litigation funding, how to fully due diligence and structure projects for the benefit of both investors and clients. He has fostered close relationships with numerous institutions, family offices and private investors as well as strong links with pre-eminent litigation lawyers and QC's both in the UK and internationally. Through his wide historic knowledge of investment management, banking and tax planning strategies over several decades, Nick brings a wealth of experience to both the litigation finance market, and to consulting with individual and corporate clients of both firms, the structuring that has been utilised in implementing tax enhanced investment schemes and has a close working relationship with many of NTM's clients. NCP provides due diligence and ongoing case management to many large litigation funding strategies. NTM has arranged numerous group actions and Nick has been instrumental in formulating strategies, arranging litigation funding and working closely with legal advisors and others to secure the best outcomes for its clients. Nick lives in Surrey, is married with grown up children and enjoys skiing, golf, cycling, rugby and developing his culinary skills, often with a glass of wine in hand (not whilst cycling though). Working in financial services since 1984, Nick covers a wide range of roles, focusing on client advisory and wealth management services.

Philip Porter

Philip has over thirty years experience in the financial services and business sectors. During this time he has set-up and run multimillion pound turnover companies, advising both individuals and corporations. He has advised on the tax efficient structuring for purchase and disposal of various assets. Philip now advises on the litigation finance sector through Newport Capital Partners Limited, working with both claimants and law firms in the pursuit of redress with claims filed for in excess of £1 billion. Philip lives in Central London with his partner, Nicole, and has four children. His interests include football, cricket, rugby, music, socialising, skiing and snooker. Over thirty years experience in the financial services and business sector, Philip has an expansive background and expertise in tax and money matters.

Stephen Almond

Working in the finance industry for over a decade, Stephen Almond began his career at Mercer Human Resource Consulting as a Pensions Executive. He moved to become a Pensions Manager at Crown Agents Ltd, organising international payments for over 15,000 pensions. At Newport, Stephen works closely with clients, providing help and assistance with the ongoing management of action groups and tax management strategies. Stephen is essential in the day-to-day work of the business and works closely with the Partners of the company providing information and reports where needed. Stephen lives in London, he is a keen music fan and enjoys gigs and festivals. Stephen provides help and assistance with the ongoing management of action groups and tax management strategies.
