Alice Kearns

Job Titles:
  • Chartered Surveyor
Alice joined the team as a graduate surveyor after completing her degree in Agriculture, followed by a masters in Rural Estates and Land Management at Harper Adams University. Having grown up in rural Cheshire, with work experience on various farms over the years, Alice hopes that this will stand her in good stead for her career at Rostons. Outside of work, Alice has a keen interest in the equestrian world and spends many a weekend out with her horses.

Andrew Wallace

Job Titles:

Having obtained a degree in Land Management at Reading University, Andrew spent a number of years working at Beeston Livestock Market as an auctioneer and valuer as well as carrying out a wide range of rural professional work in the region. Andrew has a vast interest in selling rural property and land, whether that's by auction, tender or private treaty, and has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. Joining us in Summer 2019, Andrew is well known in the agricultural community for his passion and commitment, particularly with assisting young valuers and auctioneers in the industry.

Helen Exley

Job Titles:
  • Sales Negotiator
Helen joined Rostons in 2022 to work alongside Rod Waldon, Head of Residential and looks after all the viewings and assists with all issues associated with the property sales. Helen has spent many years in the contract catering industry in both operations and sales in London and the South East and moved to Cheshire 22 years ago, to raise her family. Helen has a keen interest in all things Equine and has a very active role in British Eventing Youth, look after the regional U18 programme in Wales & West Midlands, which takes her to some lovely parts of the region. As one of the older members of the Rostons team, she loves working alongside her younger colleagues!

Jack Jones

Jack joined the team as a Graduate Surveyor in September 2022 after completing his Degree in Rural Enterprise Land Management tat Haper Adams University. Jack has since passed his RICS qualification to become a Chartered Surveyor. Having grown up and worked on the family dairy farm, Jack has excellent agricultural knowledge and experience.

James Parton

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Surveyor
Having renovated properties for the last few years, James went back to Harper Adams University to study a masters in Rural Land Management. He hopes to sit both his CAAV and RICS exams over the next two years on route to becoming a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Jonathan Bell

Job Titles:
  • Associate Director
From Great Altcar in Merseyside, Jonathan graduated from Harper Adams University with BSc (Hons) degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. He previously had a career in law, working as a claims' handler specialising in road traffic accidents, before returning to his rural roots. Since qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor, Jonathan has specialised in compensation and is actively involved with HS2 and the negotiation of compensation claims across Cheshire for water pipelines, gas pipelines, electricity supply lines and any other access to private property by utilities. Growing up with a family involved in gamekeeping, Jonathan is a keen shot and when not involved in field sports, he enjoys playing cricket. In recent years he's been Captain of the Tattenhall 3XI Cricket Team.

Julie Coates

Julie's career spans over 21 years working in the Litigation Department for a local Law firm. Julie now supports our Chartered Surveyors and Agricultural Valuers. When not enjoying time with family & friends she loves to spend her spare time Canadian canoeing with her dog!

Louise Roberts

When Louise is not buried in spreadsheets, she spends her spare time running her own business and also her Husband's. In her spare time, she enjoys all aspects of building renovation and gardening at her family home in North Wales. She is currently turning her attention to a project in Southern Spain.

Lucy Sargeant

Job Titles:
  • Degree Apprentice
Lucy joined the team as a degree apprentice, splitting her time between work and Harper Adams university. Her end goal is to sit both her RICS and CAAV examinations. She's enjoying working alongside our qualified surveyors and their ongoing projects to ensure a varied workload, perfect for her apprenticeship. Outside of work, Lucy has an interest in the equestrian world and loves going travelling.

Rhiannon Parry-Hughes

Rhiannon is undertaking a 5-year Degree Apprenticeship with Rostons, coupling on-the-job work experience and study at Harper Adams University, towards an Undergraduate Degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. In the process, she is working towards her APC and CAAV examinations, to qualify as a Rural Chartered Surveyor. Rhiannon enjoys getting involved in a variety of rural professional work, such as various tenancy, compensation and valuation matters.

Rod Waldron

Rod's career spans over 26 years having run successful estate agency brands across Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales. Rod brings a wealth of experience to Rostons and can advise clients on all aspects of residential property and land sales, plus property development.

Sarah Gerrard

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Surveyor
Sarah completed her BSc (Hons) degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University, and also achieved the CAAV prize for attaining the highest overall mark in the Strategic Estate Management module. She has previously worked in a Rural Business Consultancy in Shropshire, and now is continuing her development with Rostons, working towards her RICS and CAAV examinations. Sarah comes from a rural region of North Wales, and in her spare time can be found spending time with friends and family, paddle boarding or walking with her dog.

Sophie Barnes

Job Titles:
  • Professional Support
Sophie joined Rostons in February 2020 and has enabled the team to expand its services by offering support to the Residential Agency team and playing a vital role within the Farm Dispersal Sales. Having spent several years working in livestock markets, Sophie has a wealth of knowledge in preparing for a sale and conducting the sale office, as well as having strong relationships with buyers and sellers. Sophie enjoys working closely with Rod Waldron and furthering her experience in the residential sales sector as well as keeping busy with Farm Dispersal Sales across the country. Outside of work Sophie enjoys riding and showing her horses and, when she has any spare time an occasional glass of Pinot in her local!

Sophie Latham

Job Titles:
  • Office Manager
From a local farming family, Sophie joined the Rostons team to support the Chartered Surveyors and Agricultural Valuers in an administration role. Sophie provides help to all of the team and when not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She plays a large role in helping to organise the Kelsall Steam & Vintage Rally, which is hosted by her family on their farm in Kelsall.

Tony Rimmer

Job Titles:
  • Director
Hailing from farming stock in Gloucestershire, Tony has been surrounded by agriculture his whole life, so his decision to attend the Royal Agricultural College at Cirencester was almost inevitable. On graduation, he joined national firm Bruton Knowles before moving to Frank R Marshall and Co. in Cheshire in 1995 as an auctioneer. He joined Carver Knowles in 2000 and was a founding Director of Carver Knowles NW Ltd in 2005 and ultimately Rostons in 2007.

Vicky Symcox-Black

Job Titles:
  • Senior Chartered Surveyor
Vicky grew up in rural Somerset before attending Harper Adams. On Graduating Vicky worked in North Yorkshire, Manchester and more recently on a large Estate in Shropshire before joining the Rostons team in January 2023. Vicky specialises in Estate Management and Landlord and Tenant matters as well as undertaking Valuations for a range of clients. Vicky is local to Whitchurch and in her spare time can be found spending time with her family, sheep and steam engine.
