Clive has been involved with the investment industry for over 30 years as a fund of funds manager, investment consultant and financial writer. He is Managing Director of an investment consultancy firm he founded in 2012 - Albemarle Street Partners Ltd - specialising in advising IFAs on their investment strategy options following the Retail Distribution Review, projects for fund management groups and due diligence on new fund launches.
He has acted as an independent consultant on investment committees, writing newsletters and technical papers and presenting at seminars on investment topics. He is also a director of FundCalibre Ltd an independent on-line research centre and fund ratings agency, which is freely available to all investors. The FundCalibre investment research team analyses funds which are widely available to UK retail investors and identifies those which they believe have the most skilful managers with a high probability of generating out performance. These funds are awarded a proprietary "Elite Fund" rating.
This is my second stint at Nexus IFA, having first joined in 2009 and working here for six years up to 2015 leaving for another opportunity which helped me learn new skills. I returned as practice manager in January having missed the firm including the commitment to offering great customer service to clients and of course Kerry and Harry (having known Harry as a puppy).
I now plan to commence studying with the Charted Insurance Institute to gain more relevant qualifications to underpin my work with clients.
I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the office as well as dealing with any unexpected challenges that may arise.
With my children now grown, I enjoy socialising with friends. At the weekends, I spend a lot of time with my grand-daughter taking her for her swimming lessons as well as her freestyle dancing competitions, for which we travel all over the country and even occasionally abroad.
I have more than 17 years' experience in UK financial services covering financial advice, sales, management, PR and communications. I have worked with some of the biggest names in UK retail financial services including Barclays, HSBC, Bates and The Money Portal, as both an adviser and in a corporate communications role. I have built a strong reputation among key industry figures and journalists and am often quoted national press, radio and television and in industry publications as well. I like to challenge the status quo, arguing for higher standards across financial services.
