Clifton Webb

A Member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, Clifton, originally hailing from New Zealand, joined Warner Surveys in 2011 as a surveyor within the London Construction department. During this time Cliff has undertaken survey work on a variety of high profile projects. He was the Project Surveyor running our Geomatic Consultant contract with Crossrail for 4 years. Work included primary control surveying, monitoring, laser scanning, track gauging and much more.

David Hutson - Managing Director

David was appointed Managing Director of Warner Surveys in 2018, after serving as a Director since 2001, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. After training as a field surveyor in the military David has accumulated over 35 years of experience in the land and engineering surveying industry, gained across the oil and gas, construction, and civil engineering sectors.

Ian Stephens

With more than 10 years of experience, Ian, has managed utility mapping projects across the UK and into Europe including many high profile surveys to PAS128 standards. Based in our growing Birmingham office, Ian is responsible for overseeing WS activities for subsurface surveys. Ian also heads up our sister division ‘Warner Surveys Utilities Mapping Ltd', delivering utilities mapping services on a stand alone basis.

Jonathan Pearce FCInstCES

Jonathan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and also a Chartered Accountant. He joined Warner Surveys in 2017 having gained over 20 years financial management experience within the construction sector.

Oliviu Tulai

Oliviu Tulai is a geomatics and civil engineer, with 12 years of experience in land surveying. He started his career working in surveying projects aiming to provide remote villages with road networks, natural gas mains, plumbing and potable water systems. In 2015, Oliviu moved to the United Kingdom where he started learning about GPR array systems and their applications. In this role he took part in surveys around the most iconic places in London. One of the surveys that stands out is the GPR survey for London Cycle Superhighways in which he led the GPR site team. Oliviu worked for a multi-disciplinary engineering company based at Heathrow airport where he was responsible for delivering the survey result to the airport team. He took part in projects at Gatwick and Birmingham airports; as well as Cornwall airport for the G7 summit 2021.

Paul Matthews

Senior Survey Manager Paul Matthews has been with Warner Surveys since 2014 working from our Reading Office. His career started in local government before moving onto several major multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies as senior surveyor and project manager with a 3 year stint in the fire safety sector before joining us at Warner Surveys. With more than thirty years of experience, Paul is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES). One of his career highlight was working on a major irrigation project in Ethiopia living in a remote area, managing and training a team of up to twenty African surveyors; and he has also travelled across Europe and USA executing static and mobile laser scanning race tracks and street circuits. In his spare time Paul is a warranted scout leader at his local group, also enjoys road and mountain biking, keeping fit and he is a Mental Health First Aider.

Peter Pearson

Peter was appointed Monitoring Manager is 2019 after serving as a surveyor since 2015. Peter's time at Warner Surveys began in 2011 as an Assistant Surveyor working alongside a fantastic and diverse team of Surveyors. In this time Peter was involved in numerous projects that required a broad knowledge of surveying techniques, i.e Crossrail (primary control, monitoring & track gauging), Staffordshire rail upgrade (topography), Audley Sq House (automated monitoring involving total stations, tilt meters & IPIs) and much more. In 2014-2015 Peter took time off to travel around Asia but Surveying soon caught up to him as he found himself working on the Sydney East/West rail link. His tasks involved setting out mounting locations for the ventilation system and transferring control for the TBM's directional system.

Sam Grimes

Sam is an experienced land and measured building surveyor with over 11 years in the industry. Throughout this time, he has worked for both independent land surveying firms and a large multi-discipline design consultancy, the latter giving him direct insight into how accurate survey data feeds into the design processes of a project, and how additional value can be provided to the client and project teams. Sam's skillset covers topographical, measured building, 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping, 3D Revit modelling, setting out, monitoring, PAS128 Utility and CCTV drainage surveys.

Tim Aspinall

Job Titles:

Joining in October 2021 to run the rapidly expanding Bristol office, he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) and has over fifteen years' experience in a wide range of surveying and site engineering roles. From projects such as the Thames Tideway to Hinkley Point, he has worked with UAV surveying, conveyancing, machine control, boundary disputes, site engineering and countless topographical surveys.
