Natalie Bingham Hoover has served as Air Venture's Assistant Chief for over 10 years. She is now moving into the Chief position as well as continuing her work as a Designated Pilot Examiner. In addition to her pilot duties, Hoover is a freelance aviation writer and monthly columnist for AOPA's "Pilot" Magazine. Hoover also serves as lead FAA safety representative for the state of Mississippi and won the FAA Safety Representative of the Year award in both 2012 and 2016. Before making her home in general aviation, she flew for the regional airlines, and has done work in the charter and corporate aviation sectors, with a PIC type in a Beechjet. She also holds her ATP AMEL, Commercial ASEL, and CFI/CFII/MEI ratings.
