Amber has had the privilege of working in the legal profession for over 20 years. After a decade of being a seasoned family law paralegal, Amber received her undergraduate degree from Utah Valley University and went on to graduate from J. Reuben Clark Law School in Provo, Utah. In law school, Amber found her passion for stellar advocacy, a love of the courtroom, and confidence in navigating complicated litigation.
As a member of a blended family herself, Amber understands the necessity of creating workable solutions for separating families. Amber values the importance of a parents' active role in their children's lives and believes every child has the right to know and love each parent in a healthy and nurturing environment.
Amber is a proud mother of three, two of whom she shares with her husband. She enjoys outdoor adventures with her family. As a born and raised Utahn, she loves to camp, swim, kayak, scuba dive, and hike; but strangely enough, has never been skiing.

Amy graduated cum laude from J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2010 and is licensed to practice law in both Utah and California. She honed her skills as an trial attorney as a Utah County Deputy County Attorney. She found it deeply rewarding to advocate for victims of abuse and trauma.

Andrew Christensen is a second year law student at the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law and Brown Family Law's very first law clerk. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Utah University in 2021, where he worked as a Heating and Air-Conditioning technician to support himself through school. Andrew has a passion for family law and enjoys helping his clients navigate the divorce system. He loves the genuine stories and experiences of his clients, and loves being able to assist real members of our community every day in his work. In addition to his work at BFL, he is also a Research Fellow for the University on the Colorado River Compact. When not working or studying, Andrew loves to ride his motorcycle, cheer on the Utah Jazz, and explore the mountain west with his dog Ravioli, and his beautiful wife Ashton.

Carren Leavitt was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of 12, her family relocated to Dayton, Ohio where she attended her elementary and high school years. After high school, Carren attended Ricks College and received her associates degree. She lived in Idaho from 1995 to 2012. She then relocated back to Dayton, Ohio until 2015 when she moved back to her home here in Utah.
Carren has been a paralegal for the past 24 years working in family law, personal injury, and worker's compensation. She has always enjoyed family law and the opportunity that it gives her to help others during a difficult time. Outside of work, Carren enjoys lifting weights, which is an extremely important part of her life. She also enjoys golf, volleyball, and attending any sporting event or concert. Clay joined Brown Family Law in 2018 and leads our law office in Sandy, Utah to help our clients to protect their family and their money.
Clay was born in Southern California but spent a significant portion of his childhood in Orem, Utah. Clay attended Brigham Young University and graduated with his bachelor's degree in history in 2010. Clay then attended the University of Kansas School of Law and graduated in 2014.
During law school, Clay clerked for various judges and firms with a focus on family law. Clay practiced in Kansas and Missouri for a few years before returning to Utah with his family. Clay resumed practicing family law as soon as he was admitted to the Utah Bar. Clay also has experience with tax planning, business planning, estate planning and criminal law.
Outside of work, Clay enjoys spending time with his wife and their children. He loves all things Star Wars and Marvel. He enjoys watching sports, particularly the NBA, NHL, and BYU athletics.

Daniel Young grew up locally in South Salt Lake and graduated from West high School. He joined Brown Family Law in 2022 bringing his education in economics, business administration and family law to our team.
Daniel is passionate about the U.S. Constitution, economic principles and athletics. When he's not in the office he enjoys traveling to Lake Powel, running in marathons, spending quality time with his family and watching basketball, baseball and football.

Dani was born and raised in Nicaragua. Her interest in the law came at an early age as her mother is a lawyer in her home country. She moved to Utah at the age of 18 to pursue her career passions, receiving associate degrees from Snow College and then bachelor degrees from the University of Utah (psychology and criminology). Dani has always been drawn to opportunities that allow her to connect and help people. She formed the first interfaith club at Snow College, worked as a peer educator and as a mentor for minorities who faced challenges in academic affairs, and interned at the Utah Office for Victims of Crimes. Dani has been involved in family law since 2019.

Kent was born, raised and lives with this wife and children near Salt Lake City, Utah.
Kent earned three different Degrees, Japanese, Asian Studies, and Communications, from the University of Utah. While working through the Communications Degree, he focused on mediation and conflict resolution, to effectively prepare him for law school.
"Although I attended law school in Omaha, Nebraska, I always wanted to return and live back near Salt Lake", said Kent, who joined the Brown Family Law team in 2022.

Kimberly has recently joined Brown Family Law. Leilani was born in Utah but spent most of her childhood in Henderson, Nevada. She attended the University of Utah, graduating with bachelor's degrees in English and Speech Communication with an emphasis in argumentation and conflict resolution and a minor in peace and conflict studies.
Leilani attended the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. During law school, Leilani was the director of the Pro Bono Initiative Family Law Clinic, and also participated heavily in other Pro Bono Initiative clinics focusing on family law. While in law school, Leilani was on the student board of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, Family Law Society, Public Interest Law Organization, and OutLaws, and was chosen to be on the mediation competition team with three other students.
After law school, Leilani worked for Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake, quickly taking on a full non-profit caseload of family law cases including divorce, custody, protective orders, and guardianships. While at Legal Aid, Leilani mostly took cases involving domestic violence or sexual assault. Leilani has participated in sexual violence training with Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault and attended conferences on domestic and sexual violence within the law.
