Andy Denniss - COO

Andy has a social housing career dating back to 1994 in the UK and since 2009 in Australia, when he joined the Brisbane Housing Company and subsequently Churches of Christ Housing Services. His passion for providing affordable homes which meet the housing needs of those who are often discriminated against in the private rental market resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of investment by the Queensland government to provide accessible over 55's accommodation which also released larger homes for those families on the register of need. Andy has also spent some time providing Specialist Disability Accommodation under the NDIS and now as Chief Operations Officer at CHCA he wants to apply all of that experience to benefit the First Nations People of the land which has become his home.

Barb McKenna

Barb brings 35 years of experience in social housing in both government and not for profit sectors. Throughout her career, Barb has worked in a range of frontline services, project management, program development and policy roles including coordinating the handover of properties from government to the community housing sector. Barb's most recent role was as the General Manager, Customer and Communities at SGCH, a Sydney base CHP that manages over 6,000 housing assets.

Clive Rosewarne

Clive has over 35 years' experience in community development programs, strategic planning and community driven research, including 25 ears working with Aboriginal community-controlled education, health and housing organisations in central Australia. Clive is a long-term resident in Alice Springs and brings this community commitment and knowledge to our housing programs. Immediately prior to being employed with CHCA, Clive worked as a Project Officer for the National Affordable Housing Consortium, on the Town Camp Community Housing Model project. Since then he has held a number of project and management positions including as Operations Manager with CHCA. Now as Strategic Project Manager, Clive continues to have a key role in leading, coordinating and managing strategic projects related to CHCA's future growth and development.

David Avery - Chairman

David has been practising as a Barrister and Solicitor since 1971 in the Northern Territory. David is long term resident of Alice Springs since 1986. He has been practising as a Barrister and Solicitor since 1971 in the Northern Territory. After a short period at the Bar, David joined the Central Land Council (CLC) as Manager of its Legal Services in 1986. David was involved in the development of CLC policies and responses to proposed legislative initiatives and has spent decades working with Traditional Owners to access their own land.

Eileen Hoosan

Eileen is a descendant of the Yankunytjatjara / Luritja people NT and Ganggalida people of Burketown Qld and was raised by an Arrernte family in Alice Springs. Eileen is a Traditional Owner of Uluru Traditional Owners Association, Yankunytjatjara Kutu. On completion of her formal education, Eileen become actively involved with local Aboriginal Organisations such as the Institute of Aboriginal Developments, the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, where she was employed as their first Secretary in 1974 and was privileged to work alongside Neville Perkins, Congress Founding Member. Eileen has been member of the Executive of the Tangentyere Council and has served on the Board of Congress and is a current Director of Centrecorp, AHNT and CHCA. Eileen also served as a local Councillor and was elected the ATSIC Chairperson of the Alice Springs Regional Council from 1998 through to 2001. Eileen is a long-term resident and Vice President of Mt Nancy Town Camp in Alice Springs and is a strong advocate for Women's issues, serving on the NT Women's Advisory Council and the Tangentyere Women's Council.

Karen Bozier

Karen brings a wealth of knowledge, having 22 years of experience in Homelessness and Housing Service delivery, development and management of multiple programs.

Maxine Carlton

Maxine Carlton is an indigenous woman of 60 years and is a NAATI Accredited Warlpiri Interpreter. Maxine has worked within the legal system for 18+ years as both an interpreter and a client services/field officer while working at the Central Australian Aboriginal Legal Aid Service (CAALAS). Through her work at Legal Aid she helped people who are going through the court system that need help with understanding legal issues. Whilst at NAAJA Alice Springs, Maxine was awarded the NT Human Rights Awards ‘The Fitzgerald's' Justice Award - individual winner. (This award is for taking action to ensure the promotion, protection and fulfilment of human rights in the area of justice in the Northern Territory). Maxine was also Awarded the Trevor Christian Award in 2011 for the runner up of ATSILS of the year. Maxine is also heavily involved with the welfare of the Town Camps of Alice Springs as the current president of Anthelk-Ewlpaye (Charles Creek) Town Camp, she is also a member of the Board of Directors of Tangentyere Council and was the second female President of Tangentyere Council. During her time as president of Tangentyere Council, Maxine said she was passionate about women's issues. "We face challenges every day, we started the Women's Safety Committee and we have a lot to do with the Women's Shelter as well," she said. Maxine is also passionate about speaking for our rights, specifically for the rights of families, mothers and children and wants to help with everyday issues and problems. As such she is involvement in Local Decision Making. Maxine said that it's important for our community to have strong women in it and that she hopes that in the future, more and more women will stand up for their rights.

Patrick McDonald

He has spent the last 15 years working for Tangentyere Council in senior positions including two years as Chief Financial Officer and four years as Chief Operating Officer.

Peter Marin

Peter has over 20 years experience working with Aboriginal people, previously working for the Indigenous Land Corporation assisting groups in developing enterprises on their lands. With experience in business planning, Peter joined MLCS Corporate in 2008 and is currently a Director of MLCS and Independent Director for a number of Aboriginal Corporations. Peter currently consults across a broad range of industries including agriculture, retail, construction, tourism and mining. Peter is currently a Director of MLCS and Independent Director for a number of Aboriginal Corporations.

Roz Marden

Roz worked at the Tangentyere Council for 23 years as accountant and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, Roz gained experience in a number of bookkeeping roles and teaching in business management. In addition to her Commerce degree, Roz has qualifications in Education and Business Systems Design and Management. Roz is now enjoying her retirement in Queensland.

From the land of my birth, Zimbabwe, to the Lions at the Gabba and the roar of the crowds at their first Grand Final, on to the deep blue waters and remote green mountains of Papua New Guinea, my working life has been as varied as have my travels. Now we are set to experience life in the vast outback of the central Australian desert. I joined CHCA in October 2022 as Chief Financial and Corporate Services Manager supported by the following qualifications: Bachelor of Accountancy, Chartered Accountant and Master of Business Administration (Finance).
