Brent Barnes - CEO, Managing Director

Brent became CEO and Managing Director of CCS in 2016. Brent has focused on building internal capability across scientific, artificial intelligence and engineering disciplines that maximise the development opportunities of the machine vision intellectual property generated by the company. This strategy facilitated the development of CCS's flagship product APASĀ® Independence, the world's first and only FDA cleared device for microbiology culture plate reading. Prior to this, Brent spent 11 years as a Senior Executive overseeing a range of global functions at Cochlear Limited (ASX:COH).

Chris Ramsey

Chris Ramsey joined Clever Culture Systems in 2019 to support the launch of the APAS Independence in the United States. With over 25 years' experience holding sales and marketing positions with leading life sciences companies, Chris brings extensive industry knowledge to the role. Previous experience includes helping to launch the Accelerate PhenoTM diagnostics system and working with global laboratory automation leaders Beckman Coulter and Johnson & Johnson.

Jack Brown

Job Titles:

Jack has a decade's experience working in a variety of corporate development and commercial management positions. Prior to joining CCS, he spent 8 years working for global testing, inspection and certification business, Intertek, where he was responsible for implementing corporate M&A from their global headquarters in the UK, before moving to Australia to support the growth of their industry services business. At CCS, Jack works closely with CCS's scientific and research teams to identify new commercial opportunities and partnerships.

Jan den Ouden

Job Titles:

Jan is an experienced business development professional with a background in laboratory diagnostics and microbiology. With over 25 years industry experience, Jan worked for global life sciences company Thermo Fisher Scientific for 20 years leading their business development activities in the Benelux region.

Julie Winson

Julie has more than 30 years' experience in the life sciences industry. This includes 20 years' experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing company, FH Faulding, and 10 years with SeerPharma as a GMP consultant. Whilst working in the industry, Julie held technical and project management roles across research and development, including technology transfer to routine manufacture, as well as management positions within IT. These roles also involved working on clinical trials, and submissions to regulatory authorities.

Steve Giglio

Steve has over 20 years' experience in microbiology and has led several large infectious diseases laboratories in Australia. Steve is an advocate for laboratory automation that delivers clinical value and has guided the implementation of automated systems into a number of high-throughput laboratories. Steve is responsible for the scientific strategy and ongoing technology development across a variety of projects, as well as working with customers to support workflow implementation.
