DotCommerce Limited was started as a US company in early 2001 after developing an auto-brand shopping cart technology used in marketing products online in the US and Europe. The software proved to be hugely successful in driving traffic to websites that sold our goods worldwide. During our expansion into Europe, we found an opportunity to work with a reputable European supplier and when the major credit card organizations (Visa/MC) launched their newly developed 3D Secure Platforms, DotCommerce Europe became the first Third Party Processor the emerging European Markets to process credit cards online using a web-based interface. From an American perspective, this was an opportunity to test our newly developed gateway (Dotassure™) in an environment that has typically been perceived as high risk and high fraud.
